5 Things I’m Loving Right Now
Happy whatever-day-it-is-today, loves! I’ve been trying really hard to work ahead on blog posts this month but I’m taking a moment to write this one because I think it’s important to catch you guys up on what’s going on with me! I’ve noticed that there are 5 Things I’m Loving Right Now and I thought “why not shared them?”,
The truth is, I’m about to get really busy again with my 9-5. When that happens, I tend to put posts on the back end and I don’t want that to happen for you guys. So, despite the weather, and the hecticness at work, these little things are making my day a little less gloomy and I’d love for you to share yours in the comments below!

5 Things I’m Loving Right Now
I might make this into a monthly thing because one of my daily rituals is to “find happiness in common everyday things”. I try to take a couple of minutes every day to think about 1-3 things that have brought me happiness.
Sometimes it’s as little as the roof of my mouth healing from burning it the afternoon before or the new candle I bought as how homey it makes my apartment feel today. It’s truly the little things, once put together, that can turn your whole day around.
Anyway, here are my 5 things!
Smock Dresses
My number one goal for Spring & Summer is to not wear pants. I never want to wear pants again. Let me dress in fabulous feminine smock dresses until we’re back to 5 pm sunsets. All I want are dresses.
Here are some of the favorites that I’ve purchased from Amazon:
I also put in an order at Nordstrom, Lulus, and Hillhouse. I cannot wait to get my hands on them to see what works out and what doesn’t.
Perfecting Tofu Chili
Ugh, I hate admitting this but it’s true. I’ve been working on finding meat substitutions. I love making chili, you guys. All year. It’s hearty, healthy, and good for you if you load it up with veggies and protein. However, I recently found out I have high cholesterol. In a nutshell, I’m trying to cut down my meat consumption so I can still eat brownies.
Have I perfected it? No.
Will I? I’d say the odds are in my favor. I’ve been writing down my recipe as I go but it turns out differently every time. At least it’s edible!
Jaybee Design Stationery Subscription Box
As promised! Here’s my Etsy subscription box update from my Monthly Subscriptions That Are Actually Worth It post.
I love it.
Haha. Like, you guys. It’s such a little surprise and delight. I completely forgot about it until I got the email telling me it was sent. This box came all the way from Alberta, CA and it was filled with darling little treats! I’m so thrilled I bought the 3-month subscription. I cannot wait for June! 🌼
Here’s what was in my box: 📦
- 5 one-of-a-kind special occasion cards
- A Love” sticker
- 6 “Hello” palm leaf notecards
- The cutest palm leaf washy tape
- A “Grocery List” checklist pad of paper
- 1 fine point sharper in black
- A double-ended mildliner in yellow
Tea, Tea Sets & Tea Kettles
It turns out, you’re supposed to clean your tea kettle every 6 weeks to prevent rusting… guess who’s had their tea kettle for about 15 years and can count on one hand how many times she’s cleaned it?
You guessed it. This girl .🤦🏼♀️
I could honestly write an entire blog post about this but I’ll spare you today. In short, I need a new kettle immediately. After researching a bit, I’m officially on the hunt for a stainless steer whistling kettle… not as cute as my lovely mellow yellow but I’d like to not drink rusty boiled water for the rest of my life.
Anyway, my point – if you have a tea kettle go wash it right now. Here’s a video to guide you.
I’ve also been using my Memére’s tea set that she left for me when she passed. It brings me comfort and makes me smile. I think she’d be happy knowing I use it often.
Re-watching the X-Files on Prime
This is a vice. I’ve been watching the x-files since I was, like, 13 and I’ll probably watch it til I die. My love is undying. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. I love it.
You guys! Thank you for reading this silly ol’ blog post. I would love to hear 5 things you’re loving right now too.
