My 2024 Blogging Goals

Hello, my Trip Sider friends! A tad bit behind on posting about my blogging goals for the new year but I figured it’s never too late to share my aspirations and plans. Goal setting is one of my favorite things about starting a new year. I love setting a goal, and completion date, and then writing out a month-to-month plan on how to hit that goal.

However, my primary goal remains steadfast – to resist the pressure to conform to a “specific niche“. Like each of you, I’m a multifaceted individual navigating life on this spinning rock in space. Frankly, focusing on a single subject seems dull. I’m anything but dull.

Anticipate a lively blend of travel (taking the lead) and a number of other topics. Curious about what falls into the “everything else” category? Let’s plunge into this post…

My 2024 Blogging Goals

Content Creation Goals:

Posting Frequency:

In the spirit of making the most of my current schedule (aka no-job life), I’m aiming to post 3-4 times a week. Mondays and Thursdays will be our steadfast rendezvous, and I’m excited to share one travel post, one lifestyle piece, and one hobby-centric adventure each week.

When the time comes for a new job opportunity, this schedule might change. However, the advantage of time is something I don’t want to take for granted right now.

Content Categories:

I’m thrilled to share that each category will revolve around my individual passions. While I hope you like them as much as I do, I also understand that not every hobby resonates with everyone, and that’s perfectly okay. If you’re here specifically for the travel content – I love that for you. Welcome!

My goal is to create and share diverse and engaging experiences from my perspective and life.

Monthly Book Reviews:

Fear not, my darling bookworms! The monthly book reviews are here to stay. This is an integral part of my many expeditions, and I’m thrilled to continue sharing my literary finds with you. Books can take you anywhere in the world (and beyond!) and there’s something extraordinarily romantic about that.

Monthly Outfit Posts:

For all the thrifty fashionistas out there… I‘m thrilled to bring back monthly outfit posts, showcasing the thrift store finds that make up my daily wardrobe or cozy home decor. After receiving numerous DMs about the sweater I wore during my 3-week Christmas Market Adventure last month, I was annoyingly eager to respond with – “thrift store find, $4!!!”

This has been a passion of mine for well over 15 years now. Not only is thrifting one of the biggest secrets to my financial freedom and saving money, but it also aligns with my commitment to environmental sustainability. I firmly believe that as a society, we don’t need to continually produce more things when there are already so many wonderful items awaiting a second life through thrifting.

While I always encourage supporting local and thrifting at smaller shops, it’s not always practical in today’s Amazon-dominated world. So, I’ll be sharing my thrift treasures and doing my best to link to similar items from other retailers, Etsy, and eBay. 🛍️🛒♻️💲👚

Audience Engagement Goals:

Doubling View Rate:

Between you and me, my goal has always been to do better than the year before. However, this year, let’s aim to double the view rate – just to see what happens. It’s a lofty goal, but it could be a lot of fun to try. I’ve always loved A/B testing and why not this be the year I try it out?

In any case, I welcome any feedback you have regarding the content you’d like to see on my blog this year. While I plan to share my journey toward financial freedom and paying off student loans, I’m not an expert. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover or any suggestions you have, feel free to reach out via email, comments, DMs, or any other method you prefer. Your input is valuable to me!

Grow my email list:

If you don’t know, I’ve been in marketing for over 10 years. One of the biggest rules in marketing is having an audience that is your own. As much of a tool as Instagram is, I do not own that platform. If it goes down, I have no way to access my audience. Which is why I’d love to be able to build my own through my email list!

If you’re not yet subscribed, I send out a weekly email featuring all my latest blog posts. Exciting newsthis year, I’m adding a personal touch with a weekly personal email. These will be more intimate and insightful, tailored for those who share a genuine interest in the direction my life is taking. Topics such as ‘My Personal Favorite 2023 Travel Purchases,’ ‘5 Tours I’m Excited to Take this Year,’ and ‘My 2024 Travel Plans‘.
