Best Places to Grab a Glass of Wine in Seattle

Well, well, well – I’m back again for another wine themed blog post! I told you guys, I’m obsessed with learning as much about Washington Wine as I can. Today, I thought I’d bring something close to home and share the Best Places to Grab a Glass of Wine in Seattle.

I absolutely love grabbing a bottle and splitting it with the table, or grabbing a glass with a friend.

There are a few bars that are full service on this list, but I added them because they have amazing views and with an absolutely fabulous wine selection.

Let’s grab a glass!

Best Places to Grab a Glass of Wine in Seattle

Truth be told, I do have a favorite place in Seattle to grab a glass of wine and I’ve left that as the last one on my list.

I want to talk about what defines a great wine bar to me. I think some people might disagree so, to make sure I don’t lead you astray, here’s my ideal glass of wine setting:

I’m looking for a place that’s generally quiet and reserved. It’s got a beautiful atmosphere with a very calm or easy going vibe to it. It tends to be a bit on the boho french side of things (it’s that’s an astatic). Think cottage-esque or french cafe with a great light playlist and tons and tons of plants. Haha!

One where you can swing into after a hard day of work, or at a random 2 pm on a Saturday to write in your journal or update your planner. That’s my perfect setting for a nice glass of wine. Rain or shine, it’s perfect for both because, hey! This is Seattle.

That said… these are my choices!

Barrel Thief

These guys are really next level. They not only have a full dining menu (with a happy hour menu). They’re known for their wine club (3 bottles a month). They have a huge selection of Washington State wines. They also have a menu for French, Spanish, Italian and other worldly wines. You can get them by the glass or bottle. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, or just meeting a friend for truffle popped corn rosé on a Tuesday.

Le Caviste

With the entire menu in French, well, this wine bar is a great place to take your travel obsessed friends. Much like it’s menu, it’s a small but packs a punch for pairings. This is not an ideal place for a quiet setting as it’s a very popular spot downtown after work but it’s absolutely worth the charcuterie board and a glass of Bordeaux.

Six Seven

I loveeee this lounge room. It can’t be helped. It’s a beautifully crafted space with columns designed as tress, views of the Olympic Mountains and ferries crossing The Sound. The wine menu is always fantastic with a selections from the West Coast, France, Italy and New Zealand. They also have a small menu of bubbles for your friends that are always ready to celebrate something, and indoor/outdoor seating.

The Belmont

Known for their 1920s Cigar Lounge vibes with a feminine flare. The Belmont always has wine in rotation from France, Italy, Spain, Washington & Oregon. The atmosphere screams Seattle and is very laid back. Perfect for a glass of wine for you and your buddy who loves artisan cocktails.

Mr. West

Listen – A cafe. A coffee shop. Whatever. When you know, you know.

Mr. West is a lot of things… but it also serves a killer All Day Breakfast and has a perfect patio wine selection. There are a few locations. My favorite is in the heart of downtown, in West Lake, but they also have one in University Village. They’re very well known for their frosés and frosé pops. It’s the perfect a cool girl vibe (because it’s right next to the Nordstrom Headquarter’s Offices 😉).

Purple Cafe & Wine Bar

When I first moved in Seattle, this was my perfect date night wine bar. I loved the feel and sophistication of this place. It has a beautiful spiral stair case in the heart of the restaurant that actually circles around a column of wine racks. From it’s bruschetta to my favorite cranberry chicken salad ever, this place is great to check out before going to the 5th Ave for a show. Wine by the glass is mostly french with a few local vineyards. By the bottle is worldly.

Bottlehouse

My absolute favorite spot! I’ve often met girlfriends for after meeting drinks, or driven out there to grab a glass and write in my journal. They have an amazing selection of wine and many of them are imported. The outside garden/patio is like a dream covered in lights and plants. Happy hour takes $2 off wine pours, including wine on tap. If you’re looking to mix it up, I suggest their frosés (see above) and red sangria. 💕

That’s it, mon amies! I hope this helped you find the Best Places to Grab a Glass of Wine in Seattle. I cannot wait to hear if you have any other spots to add to this list. Let me know if you’ve been to any of these gems, and what you think!

Happy wine grabbing!
