The Best of the Best Queen Anne Restaurants

We’re going hyper local today, my friends. Today I’m going to share The Best of the Best Queen Anne Restaurants. In other words, my neighborhood and local community!

I’ve lived in Seattle for a grand total of 11 summers and been in Queen Anne for 8 of them. It’s a neighborhood in city that is like no other. It has a vibe that’s light and airy and that was the number one reason I moved her. She reminds me of a bigger Ashland, Oregon (my college small town). Everyone is incredibly friendly and we’re all wanting to supporting as local as possible, to keep our community thriving.

Which is one of the reasons I feel it’s my duty to share our restaurants with you! Plus… we have some great ones!

The Best of the Best Queen Anne Restaurants

This is embarrassing to admit but: I never even thought to make a blog post like this until on of my friends was having family in town. She asked me for my list. So, a big thank you to Amanda. Without here, I would never have thought to build a list of restaurants for my own city, never the less neighborhood!

So, if you’re traveling out here: Welcome to Queen Anne!

If you’re just stopping by to check in, I’m very excited to share more local posts with you guys. Let me know what you what, and I’ll do my best to queue them up!

Toulouse Petit

If you ever read an article about the best brunch spots in Seattle, don’t be shocked to see Toulouse Petit on the list. It’s also very accurate. The southern cajun vibes are filled to the max on the menu. Complete with beignets and some of the best french in the city. Get the big one to split and you’ll be wired for the rest of your stay.

Word to the wise: Book your reservation asap and get the Spicy Creole Andouille Hash or the Dungeness Crab Benedict. You won’t regret it!

Grappa

Our one and only mediterranean restaurant in QA is very well established in the community. It’s gotten some high praise from some of my favorite foodies and it’s one of the only places I would recommend getting the Paella.

The atmosphere is intimate. The wine bar selection is lovely. It’s a great date night or place to celebrate an occasion. Grab a reservation on their site or OpenTable.

Eden Hill Restaurant

Not to be confused with Eden Hill Provisions, which is located a few short blocks away (and known for their burger walk up counter). This restaurant has been on my list since moving to Seattle but, sadly, their entire menu contains some kind of dairy (which I’m intolerant to). That said, this is one of my good friend’s favorite places in Seattle. She will order to go and make a special pick up for their menu.

It definitely have a lovely vibe about it and if you’re into a quality meal and artistic presentation, this place is for you. Recommended: The Pressed Lamb Shoulder and Seared Scallops.

Molly Moons

Ohhhhh Molly Moons, how we locals love you! You know I frequent Molly Moons far too often in the summer time. Honestly, it’s the best dessert place in QA, especially if you have kiddos. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself there every night for a late night treat, while living or visiting our neighborhood. We don’t judge!

Also (I haveeee to mention), they have new flavors every month. 90% of their ingredients are sourced right here in the PNW AND everything is delicious. They always have at least one vegan flavor at each location.

Bounty Kitchen

Our token vegetarian restaurant with some of the best reviews in all of Queen Anne. Bounty Kitchen is well known for its unique take on grains and veggies. On occasion they have a plate with meat, like their Braised Beef Bowl). My personal favorite is the Marrakech Market Bowl or, obviously, the Avocado Toast (not ashamed to admit how basic I am).

This is a very popular brunch and lunch spot in the neighborhood. They have a super friendly staff and I love the woodsey boho decor.

How to Cook a Wolf

Perhaps the most pricey restaurant in QA but it’s very well known and established. People come from all over the city to get a spot and it’s very very praised through out millennials. It’s one of Ethan Stowell’s restaurants. If you don’t know who that is, he’s one of our top and famous Seattle chefs. (The first being Tom Douglas!)

All of Ethan’s restaurants are raved about so we’re quite proud to have one in our neighborhood. Recommended on the menu is the Bone Marrow, Strozzapreti and Panna Cotta. Yummmmm.

Macrina Bakery

Highly loved and admired by locals for the best bread in the Queen Anne, is Marcina Bakery. This is where I buy all my loafs of bread for holidays with my family. When I have a friend or family member staying with me, this is often the pastry shop I will take them to for morning goodies.

My favorites on their bread board are: Their Fresh Herb baguette, Greek Olive Loaf (to die for under bruschetta), Rustic Potato and the Olivetta. My mom loves their blueberry scone and but I’m partial to the Vegan Chocolate Berry Muffin.

Heartbeet Organic Superfoods Cafe

Rather new but received a very warm welcome is Heartbeet, our local juicier and bad 🍑 health food spot. This is more of a cafe but they do have a few tables and chairs outside. I’m adding this one to the list because I know it’s a great place for those staying in Queen Anne to pop into if they’re wanting a healthy superfood boost.

Everything at the cafe is vegan and gluten-free. They also have juice cleanses you can sign up. I’m very fond of their beet shots and their Refresh Juice. Kids tend to love their Peanut Butter & Jelly Smoothie and the Cookie Monster (for obvious reasons 😉).

Malena’s Taco Shop

Okay, I’m adding this because there is always a line outside the door for their food. Always. Lunch or dinner, doesn’t matter. I can’t figure out if it’s cause it’s a literal shop (like order and go), so there’s no room for mingling, or if it’s because it’s just so dang good!

Either way, it’s supporting a local family so we’re all here for it. I get the Two Pork Tacos or the Two Carne Asada Tacos. I also loveee their chips and get a bag to-go.

Honorable Mention:

5 Spot: Unclear whether or not the 5 Spot will survive the pandemic. This diner has been on top of the hill for 32 years and is a local favorite, due to it’s quirky arts that switches out every month (along with the theme of the restaurant). It’s very family family and the perfect place for a late night pie or fries. Very very popular for brunch. There’s normally a line out the door.

Via Tribunali: I’m adding Via Tribunali because of it’s super romantic atmosphere. In honesty, I don’t recall every eating their food… but I think that’s because I’ve always frequented for a glass of wine. They have a nice selection of European bottles that I was always interested in when I first move to the hill.

I’d love to know how many of you are coming into my neck of the woods. Please share what you’re most excited to experience in Queen Anne and let me know if there are any other fun things you’d like to know about my neighborhood!
