7 Best Thrift Store Finds

Hello, darling friends. The biggest thrill of shopping at the thrift store is when you find something you really love and then you are able to incorporate those items into your every day life. These are my 7 Best Thrift Store Finds, that I love.

Everything on this list is well loved. You’ll notice that I have quite a few of these items already photographed and talked about because I use them on a daily basis. However, a few are in my home that I just admire. So, I’d like to start with one of the oldest items that I purchased and that is…

One // My yellow framed vintage bird artwork.

Yellow Vintage Framed Bird Art // 7 Best Thrift Store Finds

This framed beauty is something I purchased when I first moved to Seattle 9 years ago. I didn’t plan to keep it but I loved the worn look, watercolors and the yellow. I thought about painting the frame a hundred times but at the end of the day, I love it just as it is. Will I keep it? I’m not sure but for now, it was definitely worth the $5.99 I paid for it.

Two // My old man sweater cardigan.

If I had a dollar for the amount of times I wear this cardigan, it’d be worth way more than I paid for it. I love this sweater for a lot of reasons:

  1. It was definitely meant to be a fast fashion item and I turned it into a long time wardrobe piece
  2. It keeps me so warm, regardless of being 55% cotton, 31% acrylic and 14% polyester. Everyone thinks its 100% wool.
  3. It’s comfortable and comforting. I wear this cardi a lot around my apartment and to work with boyfriend jeans or a dress. It adds that layer of “I don’t care” style that just works with my overall vibe. (Original post here)
  4. I didn’t get to know my granddaddy as an adult but I remember him wearing cardigans like this, which is why I call this my old man sweater. It’s perfectly oversized.
  5. Worth the $2.99 at the thrift store.
Three // The Grey Mirror.

I found this GEM of item at a consignment shop on Whidbey Island. (Original adventure here.)

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find the name of the shop. It might have gone out of business. Which is unfortunate. This mirror is old school! It’s sturdy and made to last. I’m pretty sure it weights over 50lbs and the cottage chic vibe fits my little apartment perfectly.

I snagged this piece for $25 flat and made my brother haul it back to Seattle for me. 😅

Four // 90s Floral Dress.

Guys, short and simple. This was a part of the 50% off tag items at the Value Village. I took one look at it, tried it on and bought it for roughly $1.99. Best $2 ever spent and I wear it all the time. Reminds me of my childhood style icon, Blossom. Full post here.

Five // The Vintage Oil Can.

7 Best Thrift Store Finds // Oil Can On the Trip Side

Quick story: My best friend was visiting and we drove out to Snoqualmie (we were actually suppose to go to Snohomish but I typed it in wrong to the GPS 😅). We found this darling vintage town with a Antique store called Wild Hare Vintage. Which is where I found this legit oil can. I don’t remember the price but I remember picking it up and knowing it would be perfect for flowers.

I now put my flowers in a glass jar then place them in the oil can. Perfection.

Six // Nickels Loafers.

Nickels Loafers // 7 Best Thrift Store Finds

These shoes are one of my favorite buys just because of my Mom’s reaction to it. They were also brand new when I got them for $15 bucks and in perfect 80s mint condition. My Mom was so jealous. Haha. I wore these all Europe for my first international trip.

Seven // Plant Pots.

7 Best Thrift Store Finds // Plant Pots onthetripside

The best place to buy plant pots is the thrift store. Hands down, the end. Unless it’s an artisan shop that hand makes them. I’ve been able to find beautiful colors and designs that fit my overall ascetic with these pots.

That’s all folks!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my 7 Best Thrift Store Finds! I know times are still tough right now for a lot of us. Some day we’ll be able to get into a thrift store again. Until then, please stay happy, healthy and (most of all) safe.
