27 Cozy Autumn Bucket List Ideas for a Slower Season
I looked back through my blog archives recently and was genuinely surprised to see that August is consistently my hardest month for keeping up with blogging. This past August was no exception. It was an emotionally draining month, mental overload mixed with physical hardship and the kind of end of summer bugs that knock you completely sideways.
As much as I tried to stay ahead, it just didn’t happen. Part of me wants to be disappointed in myself because I’ve worked so hard on building a good posting streak and I’m honestly a little nervous about keeping it going. But life was ruthlessly stacked against me this month and that’s just the truth of it.
So for the next four months I want ease. Low expectations and high reward for simply showing up. I want to feel accomplished in the little things and not feel like I’m drowning. That feels like enough of a goal for now.

Without further ado, here is my Autumn bucket list and it is deliberately, intentionally, wonderfully low stress:
- Have one last bundled up picnic before the rain hits.
- Make Pumpkin Sourdough Pancakes
- Go autumn essential shopping with my mom
- Dehydrate herbs for winter tea: chocolate mint, Moroccan mint, lemon balm, sage, and thyme (similar dehydrator!)
- Make a sling bag from this Etsy pattern
- Visit a pumpkin patch
- Go on my annual apple picking adventure!
- Hike through Discovery Park when the leaves start to turn
- Make apple butter from scratch (again) and can them like a pro this time
- Find a new volunteer opportunity
- Get a head start on holiday shopping and handmade gifts
- Host a cookie swap (so many new recipes to try!)
- Find a new morning routine that fits my new lifestyle
- Sign up for 3 markets to sell my handmade items
- Make an extra cheesy sourdough loaf
- Fill all the empty frames in our home with pictures
- Take engagement photos or, at least, holiday card photos
- Buy a new or used blazer for the season
- Invest in a new dutch oven for bread making
- Go camping before the cold truly sets in (on the calendar already!)
- Knit a new sweater and finally make the tank top I never got to this summer
- Finish reading The Women by Kristin Hannah, I am so in love with it I cannot even tell you
- Make a batch of soap before it’s too cold to mix it outside!
- Write in my journal 4 days a week, at least
- Have a super cozy movie night in, complete with homemade caramelized popcorn and a fun mocktail
- Take a long walk with an audiobook through the changing leaves
- Make apple cider spices cookies or bread
I did create a shortened Autumn Bucket List that’s less specific, if you want do download it. It’s below!
That’s my list, friends. Twenty seven things, zero pressure, and a whole season to work through them at whatever pace feels good. After the month I’ve had, showing up for the cozy things feels like exactly the right kind of ambition.
What’s on your autumn bucket list this year? Leave it in the comments below, I’d love to know what you’re looking forward to. 🍂
