My Holiday Packing List… Well, Kind Of

Well, two things. To start, I didn’t meet my blogmas goal and I’m kind of bummed about it. I worked pretty hard but now see why it’s important to start planning and prepping for it 3 months in advance. It’s just by an hour but I’m still beating myself up about it.

The second is that I also didn’t make it out to Spokane today. This is a problem because the PNW is getting hit with a snowstorm right now and my car is front-wheel drive. In short, the pass will be closed and I can’t drive in the snow. I tried to drive today and our whole street is filled with black ice. It was terrifying and my lovely landlord came out and helped push my car into a spot.

This leads me to today’s post… My Holiday Packing List?

My Holiday Packing List… Well, Kind Of

So, the “well, kind of” part of those posts is because now it’s completely different than what I was originally going to bring. I just purchased the last seat on the last flight available to Spokane today (it’s 1 am). This is the first time I’ve ever purchased a ticket and gone straight to “check-in”.

It was less stressful than I thought.

Pros:

  1. Spending more time with my sister (she leaves /Christmas day)
  2. I got a Premium seat
  3. I got TSA Pre-Check
  4. Christmas movie marathon with my family
  5. An extra night of puzzles and games
  6. New York Bagels are being delivered
  7. It’ll make my family less anxious (cause I’m not driving on ice)
  8. Starting new traditions with my SIL

Cons:

  1. My flight has a 50/50 chance of being canceled
  2. I won’t have my car and/or escape plan for when I’m feeling introverted
  3. There’s a conflict I have to confront and I don’t want to do it and it’s eating away at me.
  4. If my flight gets canceled I may need to book a hotel because it would take a long time to get back home.

As you can see, there are more pros than cons but the cons are heavier. Which left me conflicted until 11:50 pm last night.

What I’m packing now…

I’m just bringing the essentials, unfortunately. So, no gifts but, that’s okay. Cause in hindsight, we don’t need gifts. This is just another excuse to get together when we’re all home.

This post was much more personal than others. So, thank you for reading. I find writing can help ease my anxiety a lot. Writing a check it out and checking it twice. 😊

Wish me luck! I truly hope you have wonderful and safe travels ahead.
