The Best Holiday Events in Seattle This Year

Somehow Thanksgiving is this week. Which marks the start of all the Holiday decorations in the city. I’ve booked everything I can ahead of time and now it’s your turn too! These are The Best Holiday Events in Seattle This Year.

The Best Holiday Events in Seattle This Year

This is year eleven of living in the Emerald City. I feel like I’ve officially gotten the hang of the Holiday season out here. However, since the pandemic, I’ve noticed there are a few changes. Some for the better, some for the worse. We, unfortunately, lost a lot of small businesses during that time.

Anyway, let’s get into this list!

Tree Lighting Celebration at Westlake Park

When I worked downtown every day, I wouldn’t miss this event. There’s also a beautiful carousel installed for children and a tree that gets lit up along with the Seattle Star and all the surrounding trees.

  • Details:
    • 3-5 p.m. Is a two-hour live concert
    • 5-6 p.m. Count down to ring in the season
  • Where: Westlake Park Downtown Seattle
  • When: Friday, November 25th
  • Admission: Free

Pacific Northwest Ballet’s The Nutcracker by George Balanchine

This is one of my favorite things to do during the holiday season. Seeing the Nutcracker marks the beginning of Christmas for me.

  • Details:
    • Run Time: 2 hours and 3 minutes, including a 25-minute intermission.
  • Where: McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St. at Seattle Center
  • When: November 25th – December 27th, 2022
  • Admission: Tickets range from $27.00 – $187.00

Urban Uprising Craft Fair

Another personal favorite. You guys know I love supporting local small business owners. Well, this craft fair is packed with some of the best sellers. Plus, there are always food vendors!

  • Where: Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, 301 Mercer St.
  • When: December 3rd – 4th, 2022
  • Admission: Free

The Sheraton Grand Seattle Gingerbread Village

This is a great event for kids and adults. Especially if it’s a rainy day but you still want to do something festive. There are tons of masterly crafted Gingerbread Houses by chefs & architects alike. Bonus, it’s a fundraiser for JDRF (Diabetes).

  • Where: Sheraton Grand Seattle, 1400 6th Ave, Seattle, WA 98101
  • When: November 22nd, 2022 – January 1st, 2023 (Sunday-Thursday 9am-9pm and Fridays & Saturdays 9am-11pm)
  • Admission: Free (donations accepted)

Miracle on 2nd – Pop-Up Christmas Bar

I love that they call this a “pop-up” because it’s more like a takeover. Miracle on 2nd showers the bar in Christmas. Everything gets wrapped, they only play Christmas music, and every drink is festive. It’s super fun to check out for an evening.

  • Where: Rob Roy Bar, 2332 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98101
  • When: November 25th – December 25th, 2022
  • Admission: Cocktails for purchase
  • Website

I know I should probably stop this post but here are a few more other fun events the city is putting on this year. There are also so many others on the Seattle Events Calendar so make sure to check it out. There are a few great events happening outside of King county as well!
