The Best Road Trip Snacks

Hello, my friends! Before we get started I would like to make a statement: this post is all in good fun! This is not a debate! Haha. These are, in my opinion, The Best Road Trip Snacks!

Before you all get heated up and ready to argue with me – I’m sorry in advance to the people of the red vines community. I am not a part of your fanfare group. However, I think we call all agree that black licorice is the worst and has no reason for existing.

Let’s get into it! … please don’t fight me.

The Best Road Trip Snacks

Before jumping in, let me define what my idea of a road trip is. A road trip is any drive that is longer than 2 and a half hours. For Seattlites, driving to the coast or anywhere east of Ellensburg, is a road trip. These kinds of drives always require a pick-me-up to keep the energy going and the blood sugar from crashing.

Tim’s Cascade Style Potato Chips

In either original or salt & vinegar, specifically. These are my favorite kind of crisps. They are super crunchy, salty, filling, and bring me joy. I suppose, for the sake of defusing an argument, I could say “any potato chip” … but that would be a lie because I don’t like Lay’s Waves or anything BBQ flavored. 🤢 Gross.

Cinnamon Bears

This can be any kind of cinnamon bears for me. 🧸 I personally like to grab a bag from the pharmacy or the gas station as I’m filling up for my trip. I cannot explain to you why these are a must-have but they are my favorite to grab before hitting the open road and have been since I was a kid.

Junior Mints

These are also my go-to movie snack. I like to keep boxes of them in the freezer and tend to have a stash of them for road trips and theater emergencies. They’re so tasty but I definitely need something to wash them down with.

Twizzlers

Ohhhhh here we go! Haha. Listen, I can’t explain why I love twizzlers so much. Just like you can’t tell me why you love red vines so much. Also, it’s nasty you guys use them as straws! No offense. Twizzlers are sweeter and I don’t feel sick after eating them. They’re the perfect snack for driving because they’re easy to grab out of the bag and eat while holding the wheel.

Fruity Mentos

Mentos, in general, are one of my favorite candies. 🍬 I actually cannot fly without them. They’re my snack for flights, train rides, and road trips. If I cannot find any of the snacks above, mentos are universal and I can normally find them in any country. They’re so good and help settle upset stomachs. There’s a joke in my family that you can’t just have one mento… and it’s true!

That’s it, dolls! Those are The Best Road Trip Snacks … according to me. I can’t wait to hear what you love to grab before going on your road trips. Please leave me a comment below to tell me your opinion and what you think is missing from the list.

Happy trails!
