Romantic Weekend Getaways Near Seattle

With Valentine’s Day around the corner and my romanticism with travel, I guess this post isn’t much of a surprise. Washington State has some of the rustic/cutest cabins in the PNW and we have some wonderful small towns next to the ocean, as well as a few lakes.

I’m a big fan of places near a state park, for hiking, or anything with a hot tub. To each their own, right?

Why weekend getaways are important

After staying at home for nearly 2 consecutive years, vacations/adventures/getaways are more important than ever. It’s good for every relationship to get out and explore. With new surroundings, different conversations emerge, things you may not know about one another and it’s a chance to make new memories.

Two nights is the perfect amount of time to relax, reflect and have fun in a new place.

Best seasons to getaway

Since you’re in the PNW, there’s no wrong season to get out of the city. Obviously, the Spring and Summer months are best for mountain views and hiking adventures but our winter activities list is extensive!

These places aren’t subjective to weather and I recommend them, as they’re all less than 2 hours from the city.

Romantic Weekend Getaways Near Seattle

I believe that if you’re with someone you adorn, anywhere could be romantic. From a snow cave in the middle of Iceland to a staycation with the promise of no social media, if you’re with your honey it’s doesn’t matter.

With that said, that’s why my first getaway is so basic.

Downtown Seattle, WA

There is nothing more romantic in Seattle than the city lights and views of the Puget Sound. Watching the ferries from your hotel room, catching a show at our 5th Ave Theater, or a sports game in the summer.

Hotel Recommendations:

Seabrook, WA

I stumbled upon this darling little town with one of my best friends a few summers ago. Don’t blink while driving, you could miss it!

This town is full of charm, the perfect little cottage beach homes, and the majority of them are available via Airbnb. I recommend booking way in advance. It’s a beloved getaway spot for many posh vacationers from Seattle.

Dining recommendations:

Leavenworth, WA

This place is right out of a fairytale. It’s beautiful all year round but I’m partial to it in the Spring and Summer. It’s stunning in the winter but without a car with 4-wheel drive, you might want to reconsider going.

This place is perfect for a couples getaway. There tends to always be live music every night and they have tons of Airbnb and hotels with hot tubs!

Woodinville, WA

Woodinville is about a 25-minute drive from Downtown Seattle and it’s a winery haven retreat! It’s a fantastic outing on the weekend for wine tasting. Why not grab a room at Willows Lodge? It’s located in the heart of the wine district and within walking distance to most of the tasting rooms.

Tasting Rooms to Reserve:

Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, WA

This island is still on my to-do list but I’m adding it because it’s well known for its whale tours! That’s right, live whales tend to swim, play and live while roaming through the Puget Sound!

It’s also darling, well known for its charm and wildlife. Additionally, you get to take a ferry to San Juan Island, which is always a great adventure.
