The Best 7 Winter Things to do Solo in Spokane

You guys! After spending the Holiday break, with family. I realized that this darling this little city is, and it would be, a super easy solo trip. Hence this post on The Best 7 Winter Things to do Solo in Spokane!

The back story for you: due to the snow throughout Snoqualmie Pass, I got stuck out in Eastern Washington. I had no complaints because we made the best of our time together. I had a blast getting outside and being active.

The Best 7 Winter Things to do Solo in Spokane

I realized, when I got home, I didn’t take any pictures of 1/2 of the thing that I did. Does that make me a terrible blogger?

In my defense, I’ve been on an Instagram hiatus for the past TWO months. I know, bananas. My life has been so much happier, honestly.

Maybe I’ll be able to update this post next winter. Anyway, let’s get to this list!

Ice Skating

Numerica Skate Ribbon is the place to go! This rink is, yes, is a family favorite but it’s also a great inexpensive activity. There are loads of kiddo learning to skate but I didn’t feel overwhelmed and went around a ton of times.

It’s located near the Spokane River waterfall, which separates downtown Spokane from the rest of the city.

Get Mini Donuts & Coffee

Re-write: The BEST mini donuts with coffee. I highly recommend doing the “Mix & Match Patch” at Hello Sugar. They have vegan/GF options. So, if you have an intolerance, you can grab what you want!

Build a Pottery to-go Kit

Polka Dot Pottery had a ton of success this winter. Especially with their to-go kits. It’s easy to go to their studio and build your own kit to take home or back to the hotel/Airbnb, etc! It’s as easy as pie:

  • Take it home
  • Create your beautiful art
  • Take it back to the studio, and have it glazed
  • Pick it up the next day

Geniusssssss!

Grab a Beet Latte and Walk the River Front!

You read that right – a Beet Latte. Intrigued right?

You can grab a few unique drinks at Indaba Coffee Shop in Downtown Spokane! Here’s a shortlist of their quirky ones.

  • Beet Latte (caffeine-free)
  • Lemon Vanilla Latte
  • House Butterscotch Latte
  • Café Scosso (described here 😅)
  • Staccato (a layered espresso)

Go Snowshoeing

On my last trip, I went snowshoeing for the first time. If you don’t own a pair, apparently you can get them for a great price at Costco or REI, there are tons of trails around Spokane. All you need is a car that drives well in the snow.

You can also rent a pair at Selkirk Lodge Mt. Spokane! They have great prices and you’ll be up near Mt. Spokane for epic views and trails of the city.

Ride the SkyRide Gondola

Listen – normally I would say to ride this in the summer but there was NO ONE in line. It was absolutely worth it. However, For those who don’t like heights – this is a no for you. Haha!

Though the Gondola is completely safe, it’s wobbly, moves slowly, and is absolutely worth seeing the rushing waterfall from above.

Alright, friends! I would love to know if you’ve been to Spokane and what you like to do in the winter for fun. Especially, solo! I’d love to add to this list and also have other things to do when I go back!

Happy adventures!
