Must See Sights In Savannah That You Shouldn’t Miss

Sometimes you’re not in a place for a long time, but you’re there for a good time! 😉 When that happens, I want to be as productive as possible. So here’s my Must See Sights In Savannah That You Shouldn’t Miss post because strategy is key for 24-48 hour travel.

Must See Sights In Savannah That You Shouldn’t Miss

Savannah really stole a bit of my heart on my Solo Southern Road Trip. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the city but the ironwork on the old southern homes and the Spanish moss won me over.

I’ll keep this post short and sweet for y’all because I know you’re just looking for the Must Sees.

The Olde Pink House

Built in 1771, the house was built out of brick but had plaster placed over it to make it look more like an English home (and more sophisticated). This backfired when the brick color started to seep through the plaster from the Southern heat. Now it’s a restaurant and national landmark, due to secret meetings between the original 13 colonies.

Definitely worth seeing in real life. This home is grand and stays true to its roots with an authentic Southern dinner menu. Though I didn’t eat there, it’s a must-see for Instagram photos.

River Street

One of the most famous streets in Savannah, not to mention historic. The street is made out of cobblestone from all over the world because Savannah is the most used importation harbor on the Atlantic. Empty ships would fill up on these stones from every port in the world to ensure safe weighted passage through storms.

River Street is still an active port and it’s known for its eclectic shops. It’s also the best place to see/board the Riverboat cruise.

Mercer-Williams House

If you’re a fan of Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil, well this is the house where the true story took place. I actually didn’t know about this house until I went on my Viator Bike Tour (highly recommend & best way to see Savannah).

Again, if you’re a fan, it’s totally worth it and also paying to go inside. William’s sister owns the House which is now a museum.

Forsyth Park & The Forsyth Fountain

Yes, it’s just a fountain but it’s also very iconic for Savannah. People know you’re in Savannah by this fountain alone. Everyone takes pictures in front of it—wedding photos, senior portraits, and, of course, Instagram.

Besides the fountain, you’ll fall in love with this park. It’s a beautiful Parisian model of residential urban development. Not to mention, well maintained and seen in many films (including Forrest Gump)!

If anything, walk by it. It’s so grand! For a moment, I genuinely thought and felt like I was in Europe. The amount of influence the Irish had on Savannah is amazing. I regret not going inside.

There’s the Mirabelle Café (that serves waffles) directly across the street from it where you can sit and people-watch, as well as take in the entire church.

Peregrin Restaurant & Bar at Perry Lane Hotel

If you are looking for one of the best views in Savannah, this is the spot. It doesn’t matter the time of day, the Perry Lane Hotel has a killer view of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge, Savannah River, and riverboats! It’s a must-see, for sure.

The Gingerbread House & Foxy Loxy Café

The Gingerbread House is known for being a wedding venue and event space but it’s absolutely filled with southern charm and that iconic iron fencing around the exterior. It is such a site. I walked by it multiple times and couldn’t help but take pictures.

Right next door to it is the Foxy Loxy Café which is an artist and local favorite. I can personally confirm that the line is worth the wait. You can get a side taco with your iced americano! How do you say no to that? They also have a selection of pastries and great vegan options. I got a cookie!

As you guys know, this post is a part of my Solo Southern Road Trip series. I traveled from Savannah, Charleston & Asheville on this trek and had one of the best self-care adventures I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for more on The South, definitely check out that series.

I feel like I’m missing something so definitely check back to see if I add to this list! If you think of something, leave me a comment below.

Happy Traveling, dolls! 💕
