My Spring Wishlist for the Garden, Kitchen and a Few Little Luxuries
My days have been filled to the brim despite losing my job in September. I have kept myself busy between yoga teacher training, revamping the backyard for a spring garden, family time, and blogging. Honestly, my days have been flying by. There are several items on my spring wishlist this year but I’m on a bit of a budget. Many of these items I was either able to find a dupe for, use something already at home, or we were honored enough to be gifted. Here’s what I’m dreaming about this spring! 🌸

For the Garden
This spring, I wish I could go ALL OUT on multiple gorgeous vegetable patches and a huge area for pollinating flowers for the butterflies, hummingbirds, and honey bees. However, my budget is on the small side and I’m trying to use up what I already have and see if I can build something lovely from secondhand items.
That said, future Mr. Trip Side was able to pick up some leather utility gardening gloves to help combat the blackberry bushes. If you think I don’t want blackberries… you’re crazy. I DO. But I do not want the pain of dealing with a growing number of prickly bushes that will take over the entire yard. Those roots are bloody deep and thick and just as terrible to dig up as you’d imagine.
I also went down a rabbit hole on gardens in backyards versus the country. With that came the realization that we’ve had a gopher or a mole in the past and it may come back. So planting directly in the ground is out. We decided to go for cedar planter boxes but they’re incredibly expensive. When I looked into metal units they were also expensive. Finally, I bought two Galvanized Planter Garden Boxes because I just couldn’t pass on the price. I figured if they worked well this year and we moved, we could take them with us. Additionally, we could stack them later to make them taller. Regardless, I’m beyond excited to build these, get our soil in, and start planting.
I did buy many other items to get myself going. I will write another blog post on this soon, but I got a lot of my tools at Dollar Tree. I know, insane, but it’s true. Unfortunately, their website doesn’t allow you to buy a single item, just in bulk, so I’m linking similar items. I was able to pick up pruning shears, three metal hanging plant brackets, a butterfly wind chime (I love this one and this one!), and a whole ton of seeds. Since I can’t share those, here are a few seeds I have from other companies: morning glory, calendula, marigolds, cosmos, zucchini, cucumbers, sweet peppers, cherry tomatoes, roma tomatoes, sugar baby watermelon, carrots, and kale!

For the Kitchen
I feel so spoiled because, as you know, we received a Cuisinart Bread Maker for the holidays last year, and we also received the Ninja CREAMi Deluxe XL 11-in-1 Frozen Treat Maker! If you’ve been around a while, you’ll know I have a dairy intolerance to US milk. I’m so excited to start experimenting with this machine!
On top of that, I’m beyond excited to pull out my bundt cake pan for a lemon pound cake with strawberries and a glaze. I have a vision, my friends, and it ends with a lovely tea party on a sunny spring day!
For Getting Dressed
I am completely and overwhelmingly obsessed with these Garden Veggie Printed Barrel Pants from Free People and they are haunting my dreams. I know, dramatic. Barrel jeans are a bit of a wild card but I’d really like to at least try them on.
I’m also eyeing this Flora Nikrooz Sabrina Pajamas & Robe Travel Set. I only own one pajama set and it doesn’t have a robe. This set seems perfect to take me from spring to summer.
Lastly, I want another pair of Nisolo Huarache Sandals! I bought a pair two years ago and they’re my absolute favorite flats. They go with everything in my closet and I love them.
Little Luxuries
These are tiny luxuries that I’m eyeing! I’d love to grab Bloomeffects Tulipscreen Hydrating Lip Oil SPF 40+ and this stunning Natural Pink Sapphire and Diamond Stackable Ring in 18k gold!
So much gardening! Right? My poor ADHD has hyperfixated on it. I truly cannot wait to get my seeds in the ground and my purchased plants into our new containers.
What’s on your wishlist this spring? I would love to know what you’re trying to accomplish and what your hobbies are!
