My Winter Reading List
My last few posts have all started with “My,” and I’m sorry – I just can’t help it. I have so many goals and plans for the year, and I’m itching to dive into them. I originally wanted to call this post My January TBR, but since we’re already halfway through January, that felt unrealistic – and I have to admit, I’ve been really bad at picking up my books since last June.
I used to be the romance book queen among my friends, but (and this is probably the sappiest thing I’ve ever written) since dating Ad, romance books just don’t compare to real life.
I know. I KNOW. He’s better than every book boyfriend I’ve ever had! And here’s what’s wild: I’m barely reading romance at all. Lately, I’ve been gravitating toward mystery thrillers, “whodunits,” and nonfiction more than ever. It’s surprising, but somehow not. I’m sharing this because my list might shock you!
Anyway, please tell me what’s on your winter TBR! I’m dying to see and compare.

As she investigates, she uncovers secrets, faces danger, and navigates a world of international crime in this fast-paced suspense thriller.
✅ Just finished this one last night! I thought I’d love it – there’s so much I’m obsessed with in real life: art history, thievery, antiquities deals, MI6, witness protection, money laundering, suspicious narrators… the list goes on. But it was just okay. Solid 3 out of 5 stars. I wanted more action and thrills!
Babel by R.F. Kuang – Currently Reading
A dark, fantastical tale of language, colonialism, and power at an elite translation school. This novel combines magic, political intrigue, and moral complexity in a story that’s as thought-provoking as it is thrilling.
💖 This one is taking me a little longer to get through – I think I lost my reading mojo on it.
The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman – Currently Reading
Four retirees meet weekly to solve cold cases, only to stumble onto a live one. Full of humor, heart, and clever twists, it’s a charming murder mystery you’ll binge-read in one sitting.
💖 I started this one in early December but got distracted with the holidays! Hoping to pick it up soon- it’s deliciously charming and funny.
