Spring Cleaning: Reflection, Planning, & Bucket Lists
Hey there, my lovely Tripsider friends! Apologies for the radio silence lately – turns out I brought back more than just souvenirs from Mexico. A nasty bug had me down for the count, but I’m back in action now! Shoutout to Jess for an amazing vacay, though. We had a blast soaking up the sun at the resort.
Anyway, I want to pop in and give you a quick update! After kicking that bug to the curb, I took a little trip to Spokane to hang out with my brother and his adorable family. Seriously, watching my nephew grow up is the highlight of my life. But between family time and recovery, there wasn’t much room for blogging or reading…
Spring Cleaning: Reflection, Planning, & Plotting
And here we are! Two weeks have flown by, and I’m doing my best to cut myself some slack. I’m all about being present and mindful lately, especially since I know the job-free life won’t last forever. That’s why I’ve split this post into three neat categories, kicking things off with some good old-fashioned reflection.
Reflection
Last month, I dove into 13 books, and one of them, “Love and Other Words” by Christina Lauren, struck a chord with me in a way that hadn’t happened in years. It was a beautiful journey that stirred up memories and emotions from my past, particularly those tied to first loves and crushes. It’s a vibe I’ve been riding, not in a bad way, but in a way that’s made me keenly aware of how swiftly life is passing by. Can you believe it’s already the First of Spring in 2024? My adorable nephew is already 9 months old, marking the same amount of time he spent inside his mother’s womb.
So, lately, I’ve been focusing on reflection, patience, and kindness, especially during my Spring cleaning rituals.
Planning
Many of my loved ones have been inquiring about my future plans and when I’ll be getting a job. But fret not, mon chers. I’m genuinely content and thriving without a traditional 9-to-5 gig right now. In fact, this period of not working has been the most fulfilling investment I’ve made in myself. That said, for those with curious minds, yes, I do have a plan. It’s a vision I’ve been conjuring up for the past 5 years, and I’m steadily progressing towards its fruition.
While some may assume I aspire to be a full-time travel blogger, the reality is the opposite. While I cherish the freedom of exploring the world solo and sharing those experiences through writing, I also crave a balance of structure, routine, and flexibility. And although the idea of running my own business and being my own boss is appealing, it’s not feasible at this moment.
Nevertheless, here’s a little teaser: I’ll be packing my bags in the coming weeks for another adventure. 😉

Bucket List
Maintaining traditions is important to me, and crafting a Spring bucket list each year is one I’m keen on continuing. While last year’s list overflowed with activities, this year’s is more subdued yet equally enticing. I’m curious to hear what’s on your list! Mine includes small adventures and a bit of baking. There’s something about it that I’ve missed. 🥰
Feel free to print this out and use it for your own as well. I’m very excited to add this to-do list to my planner and check these boxes as I go.
That’s it for today, my friends! Next post will be back to our regular scheduled programming.
