Books & Bottles Series (#22)

Hello friends! I think this is the first time this year I missed my Books & Bottles (#22) Series deadline. 😩 I generally post these on the last Monday of every month! This one got away from me.

I’m so excited to finally celebrate the Holidays outside of my 9-5 job. I think I might read a festive Christmas book for December. Stand by for that!

Short Back of the Book Summary:

Florence Day is the ghostwriter for one of the most prolific romance authors in the industry, and she has a problem—after a terrible breakup, she no longer believes in love. It’s as good as dead.

When her new editor, a too-handsome mountain of a man, won’t give her an extension on her book deadline, Florence prepares to kiss her career goodbye. But then she gets a phone call she never wanted to receive, and she must return home for the first time in a decade to help her family bury her beloved father.

She finds a ghost standing at the funeral parlor’s front door, just as broad and infuriatingly handsome as ever, and he’s just as confused about why he’s there as she is.

Honest Review: 5 Stars

Well, I cried. Even though I predicted a huge chunk of the plot but I’m happy with the ending. Cause if it had gone the other way… I might have thrown the book across the room.

This book is super punny, cute, relatable, and full of pop-culture references. If you’re not into that, some of the contexts might be lost to you but I don’t think it’s a crucial aspect of the book itself.

What I enjoyed the most about it is simply that the characters acted their age. I felt like I know someone just like Ben and you, yourself, could easily slip into the role of Florence. I absolutely loved how they addressed each other as Mr. Anders & Miss Day. Ugh, my heart is swooning. Plus, the relationships that Florence has with her family really melts your heart. You quickly fall in love with all of them, even her mildly moody goth sister, Alice.

I’m really happy I bought this book because I think it’s definitely one I’d like to re-read in the future. Also, yes, at times this book is sad but it’s filled with beautiful words and dialogue that you get completely sucked into it. Like, I read the bulk of it in 2 days flat. I thought I’d only read for an hour last night and I’d actually read for 3.

If you think love is dead… this book is for you. If you love love… well, it’s a win/win. This book is for you too.

The Bottle: Brew Dr Kombucha’s Ginger Tumeric

There is no way you’re going to be surprised by this: I loved it.

Not as much as last month’s Books & Bottle’s kombucha but it’s high up there. Though I did have a few glasses of wine in November, I’m still on my health kick. I’ve been seriously debating if I want to continue with this series in the new year. I love the book part but I think I’m run down on wine right now.

Stand by, I guess!

Thanks for reading this month’s Books & Bottles, friends! I’d love to know what book is next on your TBR so, leave them in the comments below.
