5 Things I’m Loving Right Now
There is so much to catch you guys up on from summer. I’m a bit behind in my blog schedule but that’s okay! My 9-5 has been busy. Plus, I’ve had a tough time getting back into Seattle’s encroaching vampire season. 🧛🏼♀️
Don’t get me wrong, my friends. I love Autumn in Seattle just as much as any PWNer. However, I’m a summer girl through and through. So, I need some time to mourn my favorite season before welcoming the new. That doesn’t mean I didn’t pick up a pumpkin spice candle at Trader Joe’s today… *cough cough*. I absolutely did and you should too. 🍂
5 Things I’m Loving Right Now
I have a lot of plans for Fall this year. The majority of them are practicing my sewing skills and also traveling to see my Aunt at the end of October. I will definitely make sure to write a post on my bucket list but, let’s get into what I’m loving right now.
Yoga at Gasworks Park
Every Thursday at 6:30 pm, Bala yoga studio & Yerbana team up and host a free outdoor yoga class at Gasworks Park in Fremont, Seattle. Since it’s outdoors at the park, it’s open to anyone. They have two classes left for the season. September 22nd is their last event.
I’ve been twice and enjoyed both! Two very different vibes and classes but both exactly what I was looking for that day. I am determined to joing the last two sessions, and so should you! It pains me that it won’t last much longer but I know it’ll get dark and cold very soon. All good things must end and I’m sure it’ll be back next year!
It’s been wildly successful. Both classes had over a hundred active yogis participating!
My New Sewing Bar!
Some people have a cocktail bar. Others have a book bar. I purchased a cabinet and turned it into my sewing bar and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it! It’s exactly what I was looking for and need for my sewing machine, overlocker, fabric storage, and sewing supplies! Everything has a home. So, no more excuses about clean up.
The best part is, it’s next to my dining room table. I can pull out my sewing machine, work, then put it away without batting an eye. I cannot believe I didn’t do this sooner. It’s been stressing me out so much.
One Pot Chili Pasta by Budget Bites
It should be no surprise that a Budget Bites recipe is on this list. If you’re new here… I love this blog. I find tons of amazing and inspirational meals that don’t break the bank.
Last week we had a gloomy grey day and I was craving comfort food but didn’t want to go out to buy ingredients or get take out. Instead, I found this One Pot Chili Pasta and damn near cried. I finished my serving and couldn’t wait to eat it for lunch the next day! It’s THAT good.
I did change the recipe a bit to be more of a chili than pasta based meal. I also reduced the beef to include what I had in my fridge (about 1/3 lb). This was a great reminder to make a list of pantry items I need to stock up on before winter hits.
Packing Orders ASMR on Youtube
ASMR is something I discovered at the beginning of the year and quickly became obsessed with. I listen to scrapbooking ASMR, whispering ASMR, and cosplay ASMR. However, my favorite and most recent find is small businesses packing their orders, ASMR.
Most of the time I consider these guys my co-workers! I will have it playing while I’m working. This way I don’t feel alone in my apartment. I’ll take a break and watch them pack for a little bit and then get right back to my projects.
It’s nice to see what small businesses use to wrap their orders. I love it when they make their orders special and beautiful. You know? With stickers, stamps, and twine, etc. I’m here for it all day, every day.
Twitter is my social media of choice these days. Sorry, not sorry Instagram & TikTok.
My issue with IG & TikTok is they are a time suck. I have to set a time limit on my phone for both apps because they waste 1/3 of my day on nothing. It’s not good for my mental health or my sanity. It’s hard not to compare yourself to everyone else. Especially when they have a different idea of what success looks like, then you.
Twitter though? I’m convinced Twitter is turning into what we all miss the most about IG. We can share a thought or an image with a caption and that’s it. It’s quick, easy, and fun. I follow tons of travel & book accounts. 😇
Short and sweet, my friends!
Hope you all have an amazing week, where ever you are.
