The Best Binge-worthy Content on Streaming Services
A few weeks ago I wrote about how I went to the beach with a friend and we spent far too long trying to find a movie to watch on Netflix. Til we finally gave up and went to Amazon Prime and found something within minutes (… Skyfall will always win).
I still have Netflix because some of my favorite binge shows are on there, but I’ve never had cable in my adult life. I also don’t have Hulu and even though I tried HBO, I got rid of it because it was the actual worst streaming service. Why is it so slow? That said though, it has some great series so I kept it on my list, in case you have it!
The Best Binge-worthy Content on Streaming Services
Since putting a lot more time and energy into sewing and a few other crafts, I thought this would be a fun share. Putting these in alphabetical order because I’m not a savage. Let me know what I’m missing in the comments!
Amazon Prime
Apart from having everything under the sun for purchase, you can get some great stuff with your prime subscription. I love that they have series and movies available and even though they bait you with the first season for free on a lot of them, you can pick up many other channels through their services (like the Hallmark channel, etc).
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer – I’m not even sorry. It’s epic.
- Downton Abbey – brush up before the new movie!
- Poldark – omg, the dramaaaaa!
- Suits – yes to Meghan.
- Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan – soooo good that you should watch it now.
BritBox
Okayyy, this one is a new subscription for me and I’m utterly obsessed. I’m a Brit-nut. I have no shame!
- Antique Roadshow – all 41 seasons!
- Downton Abbey – start from the beginning all over again.
- Father Brown – Mr Weasley as a muggle detective priest. What more can you ask for?
- Meghan & Harry – Their documentary by the BBC.
- Sister Boniface – Spin-off of Father Brown SO good.
Disney+
The entire Marvel series is on here! I’ve started watching them in order from the beginning. It’s been so much fun!
There are also all the classics. From Snow White to Encanto! I don’t know about you but if I’m having a bad day, Robin Hood and The Princess and the Frog always fixes it.
Disney+ is the creme de la creme on streaming services. I can always find something on there.
HBO Max
If I’m being honest, I hate HBO because their streaming service is the worst. It’s never smooth but they have some very binge-worthy series that will always be entertaining.
- Big Little Lies – omg the suspense.
- Sex and the City – a cult classic.
- The Flight Attendant – this show blew me away. So good.
- The Sopranos – another cult classic.
- Westworld – if you haven’t watched season 1, you’re missing out on life.
Netflix
Let me be real honest for a minute. I’ve had Netflix for about 10 years now. I think it used to be better, especially with supplying us with British tv shows, etc. However, I really keep it now to rewatch some of my favorite series (cough Bridgerton cough). Every so often there will be a movie but 9 out of 10, I’m there for the series.
- Bridgerton – duh!
- Inventing Anna – so much better than expected!
- Love of the Spectrum – nothing but pure joy watching this.
- Outlander – get ready for a time-traveling adventure.
- Selling Sunset – listen, it cannot be helped & it’s my only vice.
- Sweet Magnolias – as Hallmark as Netflix gets!
- The Crown – ughhhh sooo good!
- The Great British Bake-off – again, can’t be helped, it’s so good.
- The Witcher – soft spot for Cavill and I’m not sorry.
Youtube channels
Oh my gosh. Youtube has become my life! I have some amazing channels I’ve subscribed to and look forward to catching up with them on the weekend. Here’s a list of my absolute favorite YouTubers!
- Frugal Fit Mom – all things finance, food, fitness, and fun!
- Pick Up Limes – calm and relaxing space with a nourishing plant-based lifestyle.
- Josie (aka Fashion Mumblr) – Cotswolds-based Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle vlogger.
- Dainty Diaries – Irish vlogger. Interiors, DIY home projects, and vintage-style fashion.
- Lauren Johnson – favorite sewer on youtube.
- The Bucket List Family – favorite Family Travel Journalists.
- Coffee Shop Ambience – 3D designed cafes with Benjamin Gardiner music.
I cannot wait to hear what some of your favorite binge-worthy series, movies, etc are! Please share them in the comments below. I’m always looking for other recommendations, due to the algorithm. 📺
