A Weekend in Ocean Shores, WA
Hello, Dolls! I mentioned in my last B&B post that I was writing from Ocean Shore, WA. My friend, Shanna, and I had a mini-blogging retreat. It’s been hard to get ahead of our posts with a full-time job and loads of family trips and friend activities coming up. Regardless, I thought it would be fun to write about my little escape and A Weekend in Ocean Shores, WA!
In honesty, there isn’t much to do in Ocean Shores. It’s a sleepy little town but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do. It’s just quiet. A significantly slower pace than the city.
A Weekend in Ocean Shores, WA
I’ve been to Ocean Shores a few times. We went when I was a kid and I remember loving it as a child. Nothing but eating hot dogs, running through the sand, and a lot of coloring. As an adult, well… I guess nothing has really changed but I do get to decide where to stay!
The best beaches
Ocean Shores is technically a peninsula that runs along the pacific coast of Washington State. A lot of the homes out there are waterfront homes because of the ocean rivers that run throughout them. I love how many bridges, wildlife, and recreational area is out there.
Damon Point
This is by far my favorite beach to walk along. It’s on the tip of the peninsula so the waves aren’t as intense. If you look directly across the way, you’ll see Westport, which is another cute little beach town in Washington.
This beach is great for seashells and rock lovers. They have the prettiest shells and so many pebbles for skipping rocks. It’s very laid back. People always say “hi” when you stroll by. There’s also an RV park right off the coastal line, for those with trailers, etc.
North Jetty
This beach is super rocky. By rocky I mean… huge rocks that many people climb up for a view of the sea. It’s very walkable and great for morning strolls and/or watching the sun go down.
On our coast, during certain times of the year, you can drive your car right on the sand up the coastline. We also have a lot of crabbing which this beach is used for that.
Favorite restaurants
I’ve done the work for you! Haha. Here are some gems you should check out in Ocean Shores, but I would love to hear what your favorites are too.
Oyhut Bay Grill
Word to the wise, this place is pricey but caters to many locals and city folk. They have amazing live music throughout the week and a darling little wine bar patio. I recommend the gorgonzola truffle fries, the kale caesar with blackened salmon, or the Oyhut Bay Burger.
Ocean Beach Roasters
This little eatery is so cute and always busy. These guys get a morning rush like no other but have a great iced coffee and a decent farmer’s plate. Pro-tip: If it’s after 3 pm, they are sold out of everything and don’t restock til the following morning.
Double Barrel BBQ
If you’re into BBQ, this will be the best in the area. I was pleasantly surprised with the pulled pork sandwich. The slaw had apples in it! Which I loved. It’s very small but a great little backyard area where you can watch them prep the food.
Quaint small towns close by
Westport
It’s likely you’ve never heard of Westport, WA. Not unless you’re from WA state or have read Tessa Bailey’s Bellinger Sister’s series (recommended). Westport is a tiny fishing town that has the freshest seafood on the market. They’re known for dungeness crab, oysters, albacore tuna, and salmon.
Seabrook
This small village is darling! It looks like we cut a New England beach town and pasted it on the Washington coast. If I could move to Seabrook, I would. The homes are so sweet and it’s a very family-friendly town.

Search for seashells
One of my favorite things to do. This is a great activity if you have kids. I like to find the best one, write the date and make an ornament out of it. It’s a good free souvenir hack. Just keep an eye out for jellyfish!
Sandcastles
Oh! Such a fun activity that I loved to do as a kid. My brother and I would be entertained for hours building villages and towns, etc in the sand.
Ice cream (and go-carts!)
I mean, come on you guys! Ice cream is a must when at the beach. No matter if it’s winter or summer. You need it. The peppermint parlor is located downtown and is also attached to the go-cart family fun center. There’s also Surely Sweet, which is a froyo spot! For vegans and dairy-free, there are options at the IGA!
Thanks for reading about my weekend at Ocean Shores, WA, you guys! If you’re looking for a cute area to stay in, I can’t recommend Oyhut Bay Seaside Village enough! I had such a relaxing trip full of tacos, reading, blogging, and laughing with my friend. I hope you all are able to have a weekend away soon.
