7 Ways to Celebrate Galentine’s Day This Year
Galentine’s Dayyyyy! What a fantastic day to celebrate yourself, friends and family. Feb 13th is nothing but positive vibes and self-health power, especially compared to Feb 14th 🙄. This year, more than ever, it’s important to connect with others so, here are 7 Ways to Celebrate Galentine’s Day This Year.
Let me start by saying that I go HARD on Galentine’s Day every single year. In the past I’ve spent it bowling with 10 gal pals (SO much fun!), happy hour with my favorites and wine tasting in Woodinville. Last year, I spent it watching Crazy Rich Asians and eating homemade vegan pizza with a girlfriend.
This year, since we’re still trying to stay safe at home, and avoid major crowds, these ideas are mostly virtual. So let’s jump into these crazy Galentine’s Day ideas!
7 Ways to Celebrate Galentine’s Day This Year:
Send Galentine’s Day Cards
This is something I am doing this year because a lot of my friends aren’t local AND because I’ve been keeping my circle extra small. No need to send gift cards or anything crazy. Just a letter on how much you value them in your life!
Homemade Pizza and Movie night!
This has been my tradition over the past few years and this year isn’t going to change that. Instead of having a friend/friends over, this year I’ll be grabbing Trader Joe’s Cauliflower pizza crust, opening a bottle of red and re-watching season 1 of Desperate Housewives while texting one of my best friends. As much as I love the idea of being on the phone the whole time, texting is way easier. I’ll also be working on a puzzle!
P.S. I love this tradition because if anyone has allergies, they can make their own pizza.
Galentine’s Day Zoom Party
This is such an easy way to see all of your friends, virtually, for a few hours You can also make it a Happy Hour if you know your friends can only commit to a small time window. I’ve been to a few “parties” this year that were so easy to pop in and out of because they are virtual.
Share recipes, what you’re drinking, celebrity gossip and talk about Netflix shows. This is what Galentine’s Day is allll about!
Drop Off Gifts
For those who’s love language is gifts, this one is for YOU.
I love gifting plants, homemade cookies…. boxed cookies 😅, wine, tea with a cute mug and anything small that reminds me of someone. Even just dropping off a single rose or flowers at their door to show appreciation for them in your life.
Galentine’s Day Tent Picnic
Set up a covered tent outside (thinking of us in the PNW) or set up a picnic at the community park! Invite a few gal pals to pack their own snacks and drinks and get together. So many people did this over the summer and I love the idea of continuing this after this insane pandemic.
To start, it’s very inexpensive. It’s also a great way to share your time with people you love, soak up the sun and getting fresh air at the same time. Most of all, it’s a great time to just be silly.
Get Tickets for a Virtual Class!
Virtual classes have been one of my favorite things since lock down. They’re even better with a group of friends or new people to be introduced to. They’re fun, interactive and educational. There are tons of different classes to choose from but theses are my recs to celebrate Galentine’s Day this year.
Virtual Classes Ideas:
- Wine Tasting (Wine from around the world, Wine specific to Washington State!)
- Cooking Class (Sur la Table, Sound Excursions, check local restaurants and schools for more!)
- Floral Arrangement Class
- Vision/Manifestation Board Class
- Painting Class
Plan your next girls trip
Hop on a zoom, phone call, email, etc. Start planning away. Whether its a safe weekend trip away or next year’s girls trip to Hawaii, start planning for it now. It’ll give you all something to look forward to, laugh about past girls trips and also bring your friends together.
I hope you found something to do from these 7 Ways to Celebrate Galentine’s Day this year. I know Holidays have been tough, especially with such a Hallmark Holiday the following day. Just remember, you are more important to the people around you than you know.
Happy Galentine’s Day! 💕
