Hello my lovely friends. Today was a really great day of shooting with my sister and I finally feel like I’m getting the hang of this whole “model thing”. I don’t consider myself a model at all and I spent about 10 hours this weekend researching, youtube watching and transforming my poses to be more flattering. They aren’t perfect but I’m so happy with how they turned out. Thanks to my wonderful youngest sister who’s still jet lagged, like me, but also getting through a cold!
This outfit makes me so happy. Primarily because I have a memory associated with this skirt now. I bought this warm brown pleated midi at a store in Paris with my mom and sister. It’s beyond comfortable and, worn with my over the knee Marc Fishers, warm too! I’ve become obsessed with pairing it with a number or tops and accessories. I can’t wait to wear this all year round. It’s a great neutral that can be pushed into Spring and Summer very easily.
I don’t normally post this many pictures but I’m so pleased with how so many of these turned out. I can’t wait to use all that I’ve learned and studied going forward. I feel like they are so helpful and now that I have Lightroom CC significantly faster to upload and go.
As mentioned earlier, this beautiful skirt is surprisingly from Monoprix, which is a local store with many locations around Paris. They sell everything. From groceries to beauty care to clothing. They have affordable well made clothing which included leather goods and silk. This skirt was on sale for 50% off and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. I was also able to grab some tea that I can only buy in France and a few bits of chocolate for the plane. Thank goodness I picked those up since I ended up sitting on the tarmac for 3 hours before my flight. More on that in my Iceland post!
I’ve paired this lovely midi with a warm beige sweater from Zara. I love the belled and pulled in sleeves on it. I’ve also added my Ralph Lauren plaid balmacaan coat which I bought at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this summer in preparation for winter! It’s sold out but I absolutely love it and I’ll add sister coats to it below. As mentioned above, my shoes are my Marc Fisher over the knees. They’re so comfortable and work really well with the outfit.
My bag is about fur years old and it’s still my go to when I need a chic piece to elevate my outfit. I’ll post two almost exact models but up to date. Both are still Brahmin. I can’t recommend this brand enough, actually. This bag has seen and been through a lot and it just keeps on truckin’.
Have you bought anything on a trip that holds a wonderful memory? I’d love to hear them!
