Fluffy Grey Sweater & Blue Jeans
Can we just have a moment to say “yay!” for sisters? Both my sisters have been super supportive of me and of Peplums & Pie in 2018. My youngest sister, Sarah, is always so kind and willing to take my photos but she’s also always ready to make me laugh. We could be doing absolutely nothing and the next thing we know, we’re doubled over with the giggles.
Thank goodness for sisters and the work out of a good laugh.
Today I have another outfit where I’m wearing pants! During 2018 there were a lot of dresses and skirts. My challenge is to re-style many of those basic pieces, but I’d like to incorporate more everyday styles to the blog. Which is why today’s outfit is not only two pieces but also is a great example on how to mix warm and cool tones together.
This wonderful warm grey toned sweater looks awfully cool toned in these photos. I’m not an expert photo editor, yet, but this grey is on the warmer side which is why it pairs so easily with browns and the maroon in my blanket scarf. It’s warn in a size M/L because I love an easy off the shoulder look. The arms arm webbed to the bottom so if you lift an arm, your mid will show. Even if you’re petite, like me.
For the first few years of blogging, I focused a lot on lifestyle, recipes (more to come of those) and, of course, style. However, I’m also petite. Not very petite, just barely petite, but being petite has it’s challenges and it’s something I want to talk about more in my blog. I tend to have to hunt for petite items, sew, chop, hem, cuff a lot more than women who are 5’5 and up. Those two inches can cause obstacles.
As you can see, these are “regular” jeans. Instead of hemming them, I cuffed them. The distressed look causes them to be more lax and I can get away with wearing them with different styles of shoes. The booties in this outfit are rather high so I folded a wider cuff than what I would do with a flat shoe. I love that this outfit isn’t perfect. It’s an everyday look. The sweater is wonderfully warm, soft and off the shoulder. Again, I love that it hangs off. I bought it at a local boutique in Queen Anne called Meadow. If you’re ever in Seattle, I can’t recommend enough. The owner is a delight.
How do you love to style your everyday outfits?
