Holiday Gift Guide for the Beauty Guru
There was an article in the Huffington Post that I read quite a few years ago on how beauty impacts women even in the recession. It’s commonly know as the “Lipstick Effect” which essentially states that despite a low economy, women will still by lipstick because it makes them feel attractive at a low cost with high results. It’s fascinating that something so small can make you feel like a million bucks.
Which is why I have 2 lipsticks on the list for this gift guide. I would have added more but I had to stop myself because if I did, there would have been 10.
Beauty gifts are the perfect stocking stuffer or white elephant gift, especially a red. The MAC red I chose is very popular in the beauty society because it’s a brick red and can go with any holiday event. Though both lipsticks are on the high end of the lip shelf, they are worth the extra dollars for two reasons: minimal application and moisturizing.
My favorite eye palette that I bought this year is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Renaissance Palette. I wrote a post on it here. I use it everyday. Literally. Not just saying that for fun. I really do use it every day and my favorite colors are Tempura, Red Ochre and Burnt Orange. I would buy any other palette by her if she made another warm tone set.
Best lipstain I’ve ever gotten is YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte. I highly recommend. My collection continues to grow and I will probably buy more once spring hits. Pro Tip! If you buy from Nordstrom (in store), they can engrave your lid for free.
Vegans love Tarte products. Not only are they animal cruelty-free but they’re environmentally friendly and their products always smell good. If you follow my IG you know how much I love their RainForest of the Sea lipstick collection. Their blushes are just as great and can last all day. My choice is Risque.
Last but not least, lotion. I genuinely appreciate getting quality body and hand lotion as gifts because I’m terrible at buying them for myself. This brand is terrific and a plant-based formula originally designed for children. It stays clear from nasty chemicals and made to soften all skin types. Did I mention they’re hypoallergenic?
That’s it friends! Happy Shopping!
