Best Cottagecore Recipes for a Cozy Fall Kitchen
It’s that time of year when my kitchen feels like the heart of my home, filled with simmering soups, stews, pies, and one-pan meals that make everything smell wonderful. This season has already been full of cozy, delicious moments, and I can’t wait to share a few with you.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been collecting family-favorite recipes, both secret and not-so-secret, to share with friends and loved ones. I’ve always loved the idea of testing and ranking them, then turning them into a real family recipe book. Right now, my collection is a mix of recipe cards, old magazine clippings, Pinterest saves, and the Copy Me That app, which truly keeps me sane. One day, I’d love to have everything gathered in one easy-to-use place.
Anyway, these are some lovely Autumn recipes I’ve gathered!
Best Cottagecore Recipes for a Cozy Fall Kitchen

Apple Butter
A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about my misadventures in Apple Butter canning – and I stand by what I said. If you’re just making a small batch to gift to friends and family, any apple butter recipe will do. But if you plan to can, stick to one from a published author who’s done the science! Try the USDA recipe or The Mason Ball’s recipe (or their book!) for tested, safe options.
Brown Sugar Grilled Cheese
Listen, I know. I know! But trust me, friends – but it’s SO GOOD. This recipe comes straight from my childhood, courtesy of a neighborhood friend who invited me over for brown sugar grilled cheese sandwiches and Star Wars. It was quite the day! Try it. You won’t regret it.
Any Family Chili Recipe
A few weeks ago, I made a butternut squash and tofu chili completely on the fly, and it turned out way better than expected. Thankfully, I wrote it down! I’ve linked a few of my other favorite chili recipes here and here, in case you’d like to add them to your own recipe book.
Stuffed Veggies
These are typically made with sausage or pork, but you can easily swap in ground beef, chicken, or even mushrooms and tofu. Butternut squash is a fantastic choice for autumn, and bell peppers work beautifully all year long.
Second Place Apple Pie
This recipe from Farmers Almanac cracked me up! That said, once I made it, I understood why it got “Second Place.” The crust is a bit much, but the filling? Perfection. My recommendation: keep the filling, ditch the crust, and top it with a crumble instead. Everyone loved it (even if we all agreed about that crust).
I found two other pie recipes that I’d like to try this year:
- Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
- Apple Slab Pie (this looks amazing and very forgiving decor-wise)
- The Best Apple Crumb Pie
Lemon Chicken w/ Sweet Potatoes and Chickpeas Sheet Pan
My iron levels get super low in the Autumn/Winter and I’m out to fix that this year. This sheet pan meal will definitely help if I keep all the skins on the chicken thighs and sweet potatoes. I love that this is an easy meal to make and I’ll share more on my anemia deficiency in the future.
I’m only adding these few recipes this year because I already shared 10 Amazing Cottagecore Recipes for Autumn last year. ☺️
I’d love to know what you’re cooking or baking this fall. Do you have a family recipe that always graces the dining room table? Let me know in the comments!
