Feeling Thankful, Finally Settled, and So Grateful
For the first time in my life, I feel settled and at home. It’s a quiet kind of joy. I woke up thankful this morning, surrounded by my tiny little comforts, and I had a moment of peace and reflection.
The world feels extra heavy right now. So many people are struggling to access basic needs and rights, and it’s hard not to feel that weight. Maybe that’s why I’m extra aware of how much I have to be grateful for. It also makes me want to do more and to give back where I can, to show up, to volunteer.
Here are 30 things I’m especially thankful for right now:
- A warm roof over my head
- Enough food to make, eat, and share
- First sip of morning tea
- Cozy blankets that make winter mornings extra comfy
- Quiet mornings
- My Mom and our heart-to-heart coffee chats and shopping sprees
- My aunts, who always have an ear to lend
- My niece and nephews’ laughter
- Time to work on my blog and share with you
- Favorite books waiting on my shelf
- When I have time to journal
- A new knitting project
- Little thrift store adventures (even when I come home with nothing)
- Homemade meals that fill the kitchen with warmth
- Apple butter, pies, and all my favorite Autumn baked goods
- Happy music that makes me smile (Dolly Parton for life)
- Candles and soft lighting for cozy evenings and when the lights go out
- A planner that keeps me organized and inspired
- Nature walks and crisp autumn air
- Time offline. Little moments of mindfulness and gratefulness
- Letters, notes, and texts from loved ones
- The library and Libby keep me company on my daily walks
- Time. Just… time. You know?
- Laughing so hard, my stomach hurts
- A comfy chair to curl up in
- The ability to save, give, and share
- Little dances in the kitchen
- First bite of coffee cake or bread (yummmm)
- Friends who always make me feel better than I think I am
- Feeling settled, content, and truly at home. I’ve never felt more at peace.
I don’t think life has to be perfect to be good, and this year has been proof of that. Gratitude doesn’t erase the hard parts, but it reminds me how much beauty there is in the everyday. And right now, that feels like more than enough.
It’s funny, it’s it? How gratitude has this wonderful way of changing your negative mindset into a positive?
Anyway, wishing you a day of reflection. 💕
