Everything I Want to Make for Spring
Last year was a bit of a wash when it came to sewing. To be honest, I don’t regret the first five months of the year. Those were spent traveling around the world—from England to Australia! After I came back, I packed up all of my things and moved within the month. If I’m being perfectly honest, regrettably… all of my sewing equipment has been packed up since.
The intention was there. I pinned so many projects and ideas. I wrote them down whenever they came to mind but nothing really drove me to pull out my machine and start. Until, my best friend’s husband casually asked if I had hemmed his work pants. That was the nudge I needed!
Excited to finally sew again, I pulled out my beloved 1960s Kenmore, only to remember…the foot pedal was broken.
Everything I Want to Make for Spring
My sewing machine, a treasured garage sale find from my mom, is priceless to me. Repairs were too expensive, but I found a pristine foot pedal on eBay from a sweet grandmother. Now, she’s back in action, and so is my sewing motivation!
To say the crafting itch has returned would be an understatement and I’m really excited to share all of the wonderful inspirations I’ve found for Spring.

Patchwork Everything
Sustainable, creative, and full of charm! Patchwork is speaking my name in a big way right now. I love the idea of taking scrap fabric, or old clothes, and giving them a second life. Plus, stitching together mismatched pieces into something unique is SO much fun and great for those with ADHD. It’s the kind of project that feels both nostalgic and modern, and I love that.
At the top of my list is a patchwork dress, something light and flowy that feels effortless and timeless. I also want to make a set of quilted oven mitts and maybe some placemats too. But the big goal? My first-ever quilt. I know it’ll be a challenge, but I love the idea of working on something slow and meaningful, a piece that will last for years to come. Plus, I think it’s something I can work on every day to help hone my sewing skills even more.

Tough Lovely Denim
Denim has been taking up a lot of space in my mind lately. I’ve been loving the denim-on-denim look but don’t want to buy anything new when I have plenty of old jeans waiting to be repurposed. I also love the contrast of structured denim with delicate, feminine details—embroidery, lace trims, or soft, worn-in edges that make everything feel a little lived-in and loved.
To start… I’m dying to make a little denim handbag. Something small and sturdy to take to farmers markets or on everyday errands. I also want to tackle a baggy denim romper that I can layer over lightweight tops or wear with a sweater when it’s chilly. And speaking of layers, I’ve seen so many beautiful hand-embroidered denim vests and jackets lately. I think those make denim pieces feel extra special, especially when they’re hand done.
Flowy, Baggy & Feminine

Flowy Baggy & Feminine
Spring always feels like a wardrobe reset for me. In fall and winter, my closet is packed with sweaters and heavy layers, and dresses rarely make an appearance because it’s just too cold. But with Spring on the way, I realize how few light, breezy tops I have—something I desperately want to change this year.
I’m envisioning soft, airy and light. Maybe puffed sleeves, pleats, and breathable fabrics that move with you. You know? I love the idea of making a few feminine blouses in light cotton or linen, to pair with jeans or skirts. I also want to dive into gingham and florals—there’s something about a sweet, dainty print that makes me feel so happy.
And, of course, I want to bring a little of that cozy grandma charm into my wardrobe. A handmade apron for baking days? Definitely, I have just the pattern! A lightweight, vintage-inspired house dress for slow mornings with coffee? yes, PLEASE!
Thanks for reading, friends. What are you most looking forward to making this Spring? It doesn’t have to be sewing! I have so many knitting, painting, and baking to do this season. I’m so excited but mostly for the daylight past 6:30!
