The Best Packable Wellness Kit for Travelers
Hello again! From Brussels! As part of Blogmas, I’m drafting this post in real time. The inspiration? Ugh… I’m currently battling a cold, even after getting my flu and COVID shot last month. Now nestled in my Airbnb’s king-sized bed, I’m bummed to miss the Christmas Market due to a chilly 39° temp out.
I’m taking precautions in hopes not to worsen things.
So, let’s chat about my trusty wellness kit! Aka, what I literally never leave home without. I thought this would be a great post for fellow travelers interested in leaving the country in the new year and worried about getting sick.
These are my essential meds and general first aid. I’m spilling the details. Stay tuned for practical tips and tricks at the end! 🌍🤒

Medications
One of the best items I’ve purchased from Amazon is a magnetic pill box. I keep my everyday pills in here, including vitamins and medications. Here’s my exact pill box and pills:
- Pillbox
- Tumeric – for anti-inflammatory
- Biotin – 1,000mcg for nail, & hair strength
- Vitamin D3 – 5,000mcg aka the sunshine vitamin (can’t live in the PNW without it)
- B-12 – 1,000mcg helps absorb iron (anemia) and metabolism
- Ibuprofen – 200mg (the off-brand is cheaper. Mine is from Target)
- Acetephetamin – 500mg (again, off-brand is cheaper and the same as Tylenol)
- Antihistamine (Benadryl) – helps stop allergic reactions
- Melatonin – sleep aid for rough nights
Other items I never leave home without but don’t fit in the pillbox:
- Afrin – a nasal steroid that will clear you up in 2 seconds! Read the instructions and don’t take for more than 3 days in a row!
- Antihistamine eye drops – these clear my sight so quickly. They burn if you open your eyes ASAP so I keep mine closed for 5 seconds and I’m right as rain. Red eyes are gone and often so are my headaches.
- EmergenC – to prevent sickness
- Nuun immunity tablets– for electrolytes and sickness prevention
First Aid Kit
You can buy a small travel first aid kit easily on Amazon. I have a large first aid kit at home. These are what I’ve pulled from it to travel with!
- Cotton balls
- Sterile non-woven gauze
- Extra large patch bandaids
- Medium bandaids
- Knuckle bandaids
- Junior bandaids – great for papercuts and blisters
- Spot/Small bandaids
- Stitch bandaids
- Sting relief pads
- Povidone-iodine pads
- Alcohol prep pads
- Antiseptic towelettes
Bits & Bobs
Otherwise known as odds and ends. These come in handy in a pinch. You never think you need them… until you do. Which is why I always have:
