Books & Bottles: Every Last Secret & MCM Sparkling Rosé
How is March gone? Does anyone know? All I know is that it is either the last Monday or Thursday of the month. It’s definitely going to be the absolute LAST because I am a procrastinator. I’m not ashamed to admit it, BUT I am a challenge crusher… and I made a commitment to finishing 12 books and bottle this year… and that’s what were gonna do! SO, Heres March’s Books & Bottles Series: Every Last Secret & MCM Sparkling Rosé!
The Book: Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre
A brief synopsis:
Cat Winthorpe is the person every socialite woman wants to be. Married to a successful smart business man (William, who also has abs of steel) and living in the most beautiful house on the block, Cat’s queen of the community.
Insert Neena Ryder, who has worked her way up the social ladder the best way she knows how. Spoiler: it’s not by playing fair. She and her husband move into the, desperately in need of a gut job, house next door. She is also the newest member of William’s company.
Both women experience jealousy, unlock secrets and obsessions.
Honest Review:
At one point… I hated every single character in this book. With that said, I genuinely enjoyed this book because I lover NOTHING more than hearing about other people’s problems and gossip. It’s honesty one of my favorite things and I’m not at all ashamed to admit that because, you know what? Live is a wild ride … just like this book. Haha!
So, in short, if you love Desperate Housewives, or even Real Housewives (any of them), this is probably a good match for you.
As promised, this is a very honest review and, well, let’s just say: I almost threw my book across my bedroom, half way through.
Here’s the deal, I get veryyy invested in my characters. They become… friends? Due to this, I think they should behave better, BE better, walk a straight line. Which is ridiculous because I was here for the drama! Anyway, these friends did NOT do that. They went rogue on me, which is why and how I got so caught up, emotionally, around this book.
Did I love this book? Shockingly, no. Would I recommended it? Yes! Especially if you’re nosey and love reading about people’s insane lives. Plus, you get to live in sunny and wealthy Atherton, CA, which is outside of San Francisco and San Jose.
Have you read Every Last Secret? What did you think??
The Bottle: MCM Sparkling Rosé – Impetulance
Well, my friends…I want a re-do on this sparkling wine. I’m gonna be real: What makes this wine unique:. Either that, or this bottle is just not for me. In fairness, I don’t love sparkling wine to begin with and this one was gifted to me. I also made a mess with this wine. It was sealed with a bottle cap and not a traditional cork so I think it should have been opened much earlier.
What I’m tasting:
It’s like a sour patch kid that doesn’t get as sweet as you want it to be. It’s very acidic but fruity.
What makes this wine unique:
This is as beautiful colored rosé from Washington State. I feel like I’ve been sticking with WA wine reviews and I’m enjoying that part. This is my first WA wine Sparkling Rosé to try. Not my favorite but I’m excited to try others.
Overall Wine Grade: D+
I really think this was one of the first sparkling wines MCM must have bottled because there isn’t anything about it on their website. Especially because Impetulance is a play on words of impulsive. “Rash action” and on a whim. Which is exactly what I think this wine was. There also isn’t a year on the bottle, which is a little worrisome.
I would LOVE sparkling wine recommendations! If you have any you love and think it’s worth it, leave a note in the comments. Especially, with rosés.
Excited for next month! 📚
