How to Style your Fall Dress for Summer
Hello darlings! I’m really excited that my second post is all about how I styled this lovely Fall dress for summer at the office. I hope this can help you style your Fall dress all year round!
I’ve mentioned in my others posts that I tend to be on a stricter budget than most bloggers. I’m aggressively trying to pay off my student loans and my car. Thus, all of my extra funds are going there instead of to my clothing addiction.
In short, dear friends, I will be recycling all of the clothes that I own. However, when I do make a purchase, it’ll be from the thrift store or something I’ve saved up for on the side. Example, I’m running out of my favorite face wash so I set aside cash from my budget to buy it last week.
This is going to be a fantastic challenge for me. It’s also going to force me to be creative! We all know I love a good challenge.
Alright, let’s get into this #OOTD! This is how to style a Fall dress for the Summer!
Step one: Grab a Fall dress that you love! This leaf printed dress is one of my favorites, not to mention inexpensive. I bought it at a sample sale last Fall and I probably wear it more than I should. So far, I’ve been able to wear it through every season, including summer!
However, the cuffs around the wrist makes the puff sleeve difficult to roll up and keep up. If anyone has any ideas to keep them rolled up, I’d love to hear them! Due to this, I tend to wear this dress on cooler summer days.
Step two: Choose your accessories according to the season! My accessories (shoes, bag and belt), are all light brown to keep everything matching but also to keep them Summery. White accessories would have been lovely as well. Dark brown or black accessories would have been more for Fall/Winter.
Step three: Wear a good Summer shoe! I got my sandals at DSW a few years ago and they’re unbelievably comfortable. They go really well with giving this dress a Summer vibe. They also tie around the ankles, for a summer feel. Nothing like untying your shoes to walk on the sand!
Step four: No TIGHTS! Go pantless! Go scarfless! Haha! Leave your Winter and Fall accessories at home and instead grab a light denim jacket for the evening.
