Catching up with Corduroy Play Shorts

I’m writing this post at 6:36am from the Reykjavik airport. I arrived about 30 minutes ago from a 7 hour flight from Seattle. I don’t sleep on planes and as much as I think I did… I know I didn’t. Despite the minor back pain and dehydration, I’m surprisingly awake enough to know I shouldn’t get a coffee before my next flight. I’m tired enough to still keep my eyes shut and try sleep.

As I’m just in Iceland for a layover, I was super excited at the thought of a beautiful morning sunrise here. However, sunrise isn’t til 10:48am and I will be long gone and on my way to Paris. Why am I traveling in January? Well to start, my flight to Paris was affordable beyond belief. The under $400 roundtrip airfare was the selling point but the trip itself is purely built on my free-spirited nature. Plus, I have family in Paris and I’ll be staying with them on this adventure across the pond. So, yes, this whole trip is costing me under $400 roundtrip and I regret nothing.

One of these days I’ll write a series on how I find my airfare and the cost of flying on a dime. To be fair, it really does help when you can visit relatives.

These pictures are not in London but in our own backyard of Madison Park! The phone booth is an actual working booth but it’s since been under lock and key. I can’t say I blame anyone. Shame we couldn’t take pictures inside but we had an all around fun time shooting in this neck of the woods.

The best part was the sun coming out after a few straight days of grey skies and rain. Such a treat! Especially now that I’m surrounded by snow at this airport.

For me,  shorts aren’t normally worn in winter and I do have a personal rule about not wearing shorts to work. It’s mostly because I’m a petite person and shorts tend to look playful on me. I enjoy thinking of them as play clothes in my wardrobe. They very easy to wear and, surprisingly, in the winter too. I threw these on with a pair of tights and my favorite Marc Fishers and I was ready to roll.

Do you own anything you only wear for fun?
