My Staple Black Leather Jacket
A well fitted leather jacket investment. Personally, I have three leather jackets but that’s for another post. This post is on the essential black leather jacket. Why? It goes with everything! Yet, there are many styles, textures and variations of jackets. Which is why doing your research is important.
There are moto, biker, racing jackets, to name a view. There are vegan jackets, jackets made of lambskin, suede and cow leather. There’s the hardware to decide. Made of silver, gold and, more recently, rose gold! The options are endless. The elements that are pieced together to make your perfect style is up to you. I recommend trying on as many variations as possible to find your match.
My current jacket is from Nordstrom and it’s a Nordstrom brand, Calson. The biggest selling point: It’s a petite! Petite jackets are hard to come by so I jumped at the opportunity to purchase it when it came back in stock. It’s a moto inspired piece with a front asymmetrical zip closure. It wouldn’t be complete without my favorite feature: pockets! Not just any pockets but slide slit pockets that are big enough for my hands to rest in fists and big enough to carry my lipstick. Perfect for cool Spring nights!
It’s important to find a jacket that fits well and that will blend nicely with your wardrobe. This can be tricky for some. Envisioning your wardrobe while you’re shopping is hard. You often buy what you think you’ll love. Then when you get home, try it on, only to realize “this isn’t me at all”. I assure you, we’ve all done it.
Definitely make sure to wear a standard everyday outfit when you go to try on. You’ll thank yourself later.
Here are a few other outfits I’ve paired with my leather jacket:
Maroon Dress & Leather Jacket
White Dress & Leather Jacket (Bellevue Fashion Week)
Here’s another post I did on Black Leather Jacket Inspirations! Happy hunting dear friends! I wish you the best of luck in your journey.
