My First Pair of Tory Burch Flats
A few weeks ago I posted on Instagram about my new flats. I’m writing this post not to gloat but to talk about my experience with saving for something I have been wanting for a very long time.
Fun fact: I’ve wanted these flats for the past two years.
Every time I saw them, I would literally say to myself “someday, but not today”. That day finally came and, I kid you not, it was a moment to be proud of. You see, there have been a lot of ups and downs through out the past two years. A lot of money saved and a lot of money spent on travel, to see family, to be with my grandmother who has been sick off and on for the past year.
Naturally, I bought these shoes and opened the box with the utmost care and delicacy. It was like picking up a baby. I almost rocked them. I literally jumped for joy and happiness in the middle of my dining room. The box it came in is beautiful. The colors are lovely and, since I bought them from Nordstrom, the box was shrink wrapped to cardboard and well packaged.
When I finally touched these flats, it was like everything I had worked so hard for was finally right in front of me.
Now, many of you are probably thinking “so what? They’re shoes”. Yes – to a lot of people, these are just shoes. To me, I don’t spend a lot of money on shoes and clothes. My spare time used to be spent thrift shopping and cutting up clothes to be sewn into something new. Which is a hobby I’ve taken up again.
In short, these shoes are like butter. It’s like putting your feet into an actual tub of butter. One that doesn’t leave your feet greasy or uncomfortable. It has an amazing cushion and now I know why it has incredible reviews. If I could afford these flats in every color, I’d get them. Alas – maybe someday. But not today.
The brown is the ultimate Spring to Fall color. It matches so many items in my closet.
