If you haven’t heard, last Saturday was Nordstrom’s Mascara Madness event. It’s a sale specifically for mascara. It’s a BOGO of buy 2, get 1 free.
Why is this such a big deal? Glad you asked! The sale is on any mascara in Nordstrom stores and you can mix & match. Which means, luxe designer mascaras are for grabs. Yves Saint Laurent, anyone?
For my three, I decided to stretch my dollar and go for what I know I’m not allergic to: Clinique. Long story, short – I have sensitive eyes to mascara. Most mascara causes my eyes to burn and water, which ends up with streaks down my face. So I went safe but mixed it up a bit!
The universe has blessed me with long thick lashes, that I love. However, with mascara they pop! Mascara is my go-to before my door closes. It completes any look.
Here’s what I went with:
Clinique High Impact Mascara – My go-to mascara. I’ve used this countless times and love it. Oil free and allergy-tested (like all Clinique’s mascara products).
Clinique Lash Power Mascara – Tried this one out this morning. Description says it will last for 24 hours. I went 15 hours and I didn’t have any residue under my eyes. Its a thin coat but it’s definitely lengthening and it helped my eyes pop!
For the record, I don’t shop at the Clinique counter a lot. I’m a sephora gal through and through. It’s my preference but mascara has been tricky lately. However, my experience was amazing.
First off, there was hardly any advertising for this promotion. Which is slightly disappointing. I found out through a sales associate because I happened to be looking at shoes when I over heard her telling another customer. I went back later after finding out from a co-worker that you can have Nordstrom hold your choices and they will ring your card up on the day of the event.
Naturally I went back to the counter, picked my choices, gave the woman my card and was informed that I could pick them up on Saturday or anytime after. Which worked out great because I was at the Oregon Coast this weekend.
What I wasn’t expecting was the
