WIW: For the Love of Pearls and Joggers
You’re either for or against joggers.
There’s no middle ground in this debate. It’s really that. You like them or you despise them and, of course, I adore them. It did not start out this way. I was convinced they would make me look like I was wearing pajama pants to work. Though, at some tech companies that might be perfectly acceptable … (I’ll leave that hanging)… our company is not one of them.
Hallelujah.
When joggers first came out they were in this weird in between phase. Half sporty, half sloppy. Additionally only seemingly worn by European men, to the point where GQ had to send a message out.
When I walked into Nordstrom looking for a very pair of black trousers, the current joggers that inhabit my closet today were not on my buying list. However, my eye kept going back to them. Picking them and holding them, out at least 4 time until they made it into the dressing room. After that, it took me approximately 1 minutes to realize my stereotype was gone because these bad boys had to be mine. The comfort. The style, The ease!
Wear them tucked in, Wear them half tucked in. To the side, tucked in. Not at all, tucked in.
Honestly, they are so easy to style that it blew my mine. I thought they would be such trouble but, no. Not a bit.
So naturally, my mind styled these pants with pearl and pumps for this week. My long pearl necklace, knotted in the middle and my new leather pumps ready for spring. My blue button up is very old but it’s been with me for so long I may keep it til it gets holes and can no longer we “work appropriate”.
My challenge continues! The past week was a success and my camera is filled to the max with photos from every outfit from Monday to Friday. It’s a bit harder to remember to do on Sunday nights but it’s not something that’s been forgotten yet. Sundays are generally reserved for meal preps and laundry but adding this to the list was easy enough.
Top – The Loft (old, similar) // Stretch Crepe Jogger Pants – Trouve // Handjive Leather Pumps – Nine West // Long Strand Pears – Bought in Hawaii on Family vacation (similar and similar) // Gold Watch – Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, similar) // Blue Topaz Ring – Gift from Mom (HSN)
These joggers look perfect with black pumps as well. Generally my green silk blouse gets worn with these pants but it was a nice change to see them with the blue and natural colors. They’re cool toned and yet perfect for the half and half Spring we’ve received thus far.
Hope your week is filled with pearls, pumps and joggers!
