WIW: Waking from Winter

There are days that go nicely. One wakes up bright and early, reviews instagram and checks personal emails, washes face, has time to do eye make up, listen to an Ed Sheeran playlist and pick out a outfit that matches the mood for that particular day. Last week, was absolutely 100% nothing like that. Goodness, no. It was so bad that I washed my face, brushes my teeth and hair, put on mascara and practically threw on a sweatshirt and ran out the door to the train station. Then I got a terrible stomach bug (I ate something that didn’t sit right) and was up 3/4 of the night. These nights are the worst. Especially for a weekday when you’re expected to be at work the next day, on time, in tip top shape and ask as if everything were normal… when really you’re on 3 hours of sleep.
These days are far and few between but when they happen, they really stick with you. I have one friend who can understand the true struggle of watching everything they consume. It’s really the worst. You never know who’s going to try and put butter on your toast at a restaurant or throw cheese into a taco. It’s most safe to make all meals yourself and it’s somewhat of a side project that I’ve been working on. As some of you know, I have a second blog: The Salad Trip.

This blog is quite different than this blog and I’ve been posting to it more frequently because I take far more photographs of my food than my outfits. Though, to be fair, it’s an outlet I’m passionate about. Most recipes are salad. With foods that don’t upset my stomach and recipes I trust. If you’ve read my last post, you’ll know I was on the Paleo diet this month. In short, with my stomach issues, my body retreated to french bread to soak up all the ugliness my was wading though.

Cardigan – Painted Threads, Nordstrom Rack (old, similar) // Tee-Shirt – The Loft (old, similar and similar) // Petite Ankle Jeans – Banana Republic // Brown Cowboy Booties – Corso Como (old, similar) // Gold Rebel Pendant – Stella & Dot // Brown Band Watch – Lulu’s (old, similar) // Floral Phone Case – Amazon

With bread back in my diet and growing tired quickly, I went home and did something that I hadn’t done since grade school. … I set my outfit for the morning.

Yes. You see, coming home after a full day of work and feeling like death actually forced me into adulthood by making me resort to childhood. It’s backward but effected. I mean, the jewelry had even been laid out!

A simple Loft tee-shirt, Banana Republic jeans, Painted Threads cardi and Stella & Dot necklace can go along way fast! All I needed were my little studded earrings, rings, watch, booties and there you have it. Set for a well deserved night of

The next morning, after getting a quality 10 hours of sleep, this adult got up, washed her face, sang with Ed, did her eye make up and got dressed with time to spare. Pictures were taken! Is that sad? Is it sad that this is now how I’ve decided to go about my weeks? Setting my outfit the night before and praying I make the correct shoe selection come rain or shine.

All well, off to set my outfit for tomorrow morning like a little school girl.
