Stitch Fix Unboxing #3

Stitch Fix, Styling, Unboxing, Fall 2015, October 2015, Stitch Fix stylist

Hi Friends!

I’m really excited to write this review because, even though I didn’t end up keeping anything (spoilers!), I had a terrific experience.
The Stitch Fix started with a delightful note from my Stylist. I will be asking for her again. She clearly read and really took into consideration what I was looking for in the pieces she selected for this box. It really paid off too because as some of you know from my last stichfix unboxing #2, I was sincerely disappointed and considered never doing it again.

In this box, I had:
2 Dresses
2 Tops
1 Scarf

The Fanda Sweater (Small): $78.00

Really bummed that this sweater didn’t work out because it’s so comfortable but it’s HUGE, as you can see. I loved how it was a knit in the front and then a long plaid in the back. Very warm, easy to throw on with  a scarf and go for the day. I loved it but also didn’t think the quality matched the price. Last year I bought a beautiful Angels of the North sweater from Anthropologie that cost $88.00 and it’s great quality and it’s going to last forever. I didn’t have the same feeling with this sweater.
The Minno Sweater (Small): $78.00

Oh man, this sweater was SO comfy and SO ward for pacific northwest weather. I swear this light pinkish color is super big this season. I know this because, not sure if it’s unfortunate or fair luck but, I already bought a very similar sweater from the Value Village this past month! Plus, I got it for around $7.00 and this was $78.00… It’s an “unfortunate win”.
The Cassidie Dress (Small): $118.00

Well, I fell in love with this dress and it took everything in me to send it back because it was lovely but the issue I had was the pricing. I felt as if I could have definitely found this dress at TJ Maxx or Marshalls for a great deal cheaper. Plus, it was also my “no spend” month when I got the box … which really wasn’t smart of me to actually send away for it. This dress was my major regret, I think.

I called this “The Kardashian Dress”. It was skin tight, nothing to hide and nothing but booty. Booty for DAYS. I really loved the cut of the skirt, especially the way it fell in the back. I also really loved how it ruched in the front and had an overlay of fabric. It was super easy to pair with booties and pumps. It was an all around brilliant pick from my stylist. I probably would have never tried it on in a store thinking it would be too sexy. Which it is, for work, but with a long cardigan over it and/or a blazer… just a gem. I also sent this one back but I really want to emphasis how I went a little out of my comfort zone on this one and I really really liked it. I’m on the hunt for a similar one and I’ll let you know how my mission goes.
The Scarf: $48.00

Such a unique scarf! Looking back at it through photos, I can see why my stylist picked it out for me just based on the colors and my bohemian personality. I love fringe, my gems. It’s draped almost like a collegiate professor or something in a Harry Potter film… regardless, I really loved the weight of it and the different cuts. I wish I had gotten a better photo but I definitely adored this scarf. It’s something I would have never bought for myself and it’s definitely something none of my friends would have. In our day and age, that’s hard to come by.
That’s it, friends! As you can see, all terrific and amazing pieces and it was completely my fault for having such high restrain and not being able to purchase anything this month. I was so completely surprised and delighted by this box. It’s definitely made me re-think Stitch Fix‘s branding and I’d be thrilled to give it a go again in the future. It’s such a fun experience when you really communicate with your stylist.
I think it also helps when you make sure you stay within your financial means and keep yourself in check. There is a way to change your budget per item in your profile and I highly recommend it.
How has your boxing been? If you’ve tried Stitch Fix, what have you purchased? Are you interested in their boxes? I want to hear them all!
