Caught up with Travels
All right! Round two of getting caught up but this time it’s not the food photos on my phone, it’s a photo of the trips I’ve taken!
First trip was first brought up, like all great trips, in a bar! A couple of my girlfriends and I were out watching a rodeo with a group of people and one of my friends decided to entrust in us that she was from a small town that HAS A RODEO. Annually. Girl, Bye. You know we booked our flights right on the spot.
Not an exaggeration. We had the BEST time. I ate a corn dog, tri-tip, fries and we day drank cider. If you ever get the opportunity to make it out to the Clovis Rodeo, I swear you will not regret it. It’s full of wonderfully sweet people with darling kiddos, cowboy hats, boots and flasks. It’s every outer city girl’s inner cowgirl dream.
The amount of manly men roping around on their horses and being bucked off of bulls is quite possibly the most masculine spectacle that I’ve ever had the pleasure of observing.
We fully intend to go back next year… obviously.
…and then I went to New York….
This trip really put New York on my top 5 places that I would move to. I don’t know where everyone gets off saying that all New Yorkers are mean but that’s not the experience I’ve had the last two times I was there.
Not to mention the men. The men in this city are not like the men in Seattle. They aren’t scared to start a conversation. To make eye contact and hold that until you smile. It’s a city I could get used to, that’s for sure.
Even though it was for a work trip, my co-worker and I walked everywhere. All around Chelsea Market, the Highline, from our New York office to the Queensboro Bridge for a drink. I had a great time learning the area with what little time I got to have outside of work. I wish I had a bit more time to spend in the city. Next time I fully intend to tack on a few personal days to explore it and actually visit some old friends out there.
Well, this has been a fun little catch up! I’m sure I’ll have another one ready for you soon.
